摘要: An antenna arrangement for dual mode radio devices such as WCDMA/GSM or Bluetooth radio devices. The arrangement contains two antennas close to each other, where a shorting switch is used at an open end of one antenna to increase isolation by effectively converting the one antenna from a quarter wave length antenna to a half wave length antenna when not needed in order to improve the efficiency of the other antenna. The shorting switch is typically a MEMS switch and the antennas are typically PIFA antennas. A radio device containing the arrangement has also been disclosed.

摘要: The present invention discloses a bioreactor apparatus with an expandable surface area which is useful for culturing cells. A method for culturing cells is also included in the invention. The method comprises providing a container and a carrier adjacent the container, wherein the container includes an inflow and an outflow, and wherein the carrier includes an expandable surface area; supplying cells through an inflow to the carrier, wherein said cells will adhere to the carrier and proliferate; and continually supplying nutrients through the inflow of the container. A device for culturing cells comprising a carrier including an expandable surface area upon which to culture the cells is also included in the present invention.

摘要: A method of separating and extracting carbon nanotubes, the method includes introducing the carbon nanotubes into a two-phase system that includes a first component and a second component, the first component being different from the second component. The method includes introducing a chemical agent into the two-phase system, mixing the chemical agent and the carbon nanotubes in the two-phase system, removing the first component to extract a first portion of the carbon nanotubes contained in the first component after the mixing, replenishing the two-phase system with fresh first component, and extracting a second portion of the carbon nanotubes contained in the fresh first component. A bandgap of the carbon nanotubes in the first portion is different from the bandgap of the carbon nanotubes in the second portion.

摘要: A spark plug includes an insulator body and a central electrode having a spark-end and a terminal-end. The central electrode is disposed within the insulator body, with the spark-end and the terminal-end protruding from the insulator body at opposite ends thereof. A metal electrode surrounds the insulator body and extends to form a gap with the central electrode at the spark-end. A capacitor with metalized inner and outer surfaces is provided, with the metalized inner surface being connected to the central electrode and the metalized outer surface being connected to the metal electrode. A first resistive component is embedded within the central electrode between the capacitor and the terminal-end, and a second resistive component embedded within the central electrode between the capacitor and the spark-end.
