    摘要: An image forming apparatus and method uses an electrophotographic photosensitive member that includes a conductive substrate. The photosensitive member has a photoconductive layer thereon formed of a non-single-crystal material mainly composed of at least silicon atoms. Charging, exposure, development and cleaning in the image forming arrangement are repeated while the photosensitive member rotates. The dynamic frictional force (unit: gf) produced when the photosensitive member surface is cleaned by a cleaning blade to remove a developer remaining on that surface is so set that its standard deviation in its change with time is 2 gf or below per 1 gf/cm of linear pressure of the cleaning blade. No melt-adhesion of toner results and durability is high enough to stably obtain images of high quality.

According to the process, a hollow package mounted with an electronic component can be fabricated efficiently.

    摘要: Identification information of a speech spurt, hangover and pause is used to indicate that a digital voice signal is the speech spurt, hangover or pause. While the identification information of a speech spurt, hangover and pause is indicative of the speech spurt, a voice level adjuster does not attenuate the digital voice signal, and the voice signal/third signal combiner mixes it with a third signal which undergoes the maximum attenuation through a third signal level adjuster. While the identification information of a speech spurt, hangover and pause is indicative of the hangover, the voice level adjuster gradually attenuates the digital voice signal. This is because the level of the voice signal is expected to be high in the first half of the hangover period, but to decay in its latter half to such a level that it is dispensable for speech recognition. A third signal (noise), on the other hand, is gradually increased in the latter half of the hangover period to preserve the continuity in the transition from the speech spurt to a pause, thus achieving smooth transition to the pause. This makes it possible to reduce as much as possible the unnaturalness involved in switching between speech spurts and pauses, thereby improving the quality of the reproduced voice.

    摘要: An apparatus for etching a WSi film on a wafer by using a plasma of a gas containing a halogen element includes a vacuum process chamber in which upper and lower counter electrodes are provided. An electrostatic chuck is provided on a table at the center of a susceptor or the lower electrode. The wafer is held on the electrostatic chuck. A focus ring surrounding the wafer in a complementary manner is placed on a flange of the susceptor. The temperature of the wafer surface is set to be lower than that of the surface of the focus ring while the plasma is being generated. The focus ring comprises an inner part of amorphous carbon and an outer part of tungsten. While the plasma is being generated, a halide of tungsten generated from the outer part is diffused on the wafer surface, thereby correcting a distribution of the amount of the halide of tungsten on the wafer surface. Thus, the uniformity within the wafer surface of the etching rate and etching anisotropy is enhanced.
