    摘要: A dynamic training system provides elevated load and energy demand on a rider of a moving bicycle out on the road or track. Resistance to movement of the bicycle is provided by a resistance unit which may include an eddy current brake. A processor may generate a control signal that adjusts the resistance to replicate the effort of riding a predetermined course or training protocol. Multiple riders at different times or locations can compete on a common virtual course. A stronger rider can be restrained by a heavier imposed load to keep pace together with a weaker rider, without compromising total power expenditure to keep the riders together.

    摘要: Disclosed is a bone fixation device of the type useful for connecting soft tissue or tendon to bone or for connecting two or more bones or bone fragments together. The device comprises an elongate body having a distal anchor thereon. A proximal anchor is axially movably disposed with respect to the distal anchor, to accommodate different bone dimensions and permit appropriate tensioning of the fixation device. In one embodiment, the fixation device is optimized for construction from a biocompatible metal such as titanium, and the proximal anchor is removable to permit removal of the fixation device.

A radiation source is enlargeable from a first, reduced cross-sectional profile to a second, enlarged cross-sectional profile by unwinding around a central core. Following delivery of a radiation dose to the vessel wall, the source is reduced in profile by wrapping around the core and removed from the treatment site.
