摘要: A machine has at least one actuated mechanism is remotely located from a control station. A two way real-time communication link connects the machine location with the control station. A controller at the machine location has program code that is configured to determine from data from one or more sensors at the machine location if an actual fault has occurred in the machine when the machine is performing its predetermined function and to determine for an actual fault one or more types for the fault and transmit the one or more fault types to the control station for analysis. The code in the controller is configured to be a preprogrammed trap routine specific to the machine function that is automatically executed when an error in machine operation is detected at the machine location. The controller also has a default trap routine that is executed when specific routine does not exist.

摘要: This invention addresses the clinical problem of how to optimize biological cell based therapies, such as stem cell therapy. Currently, cell therapies administered by intravenous, intra-arterial, and/or direct tissue injection are limited by the lack of clinically available imaging methods to detect the in vivo fate of the administered cells. There are many efforts underway to develop imaging strategies for stem cells in vivo, including radionuclide and MRI-based approaches. However, these approaches are limited by potential safety issues (e.g. radioactive exposure of stem cells, toxicity of iron particles used for MRI) and difficulty in serial tracking due to complex instrumentation and/or the requirement for repetitive radiation exposure.

摘要: A protein transduction method for efficiently delivery of exogenous proteins into mammalian cells is invented, which has the capability of targeting different cellular compartments and protection from degradation of the delivered proteins from cellular proteases. A composition for treat proteins has cation reagents, lipids and enhancers in a carrier. The method can be used in a number of ways including: production of large quantities of properly folded, post-translationally modified proteins using mammalian cell machinery, a in-cell fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging using small molecule fluorophores and a in-cell NMR spectroscopy using living mammalian cells. The method permits cell biology at atomic resolution that is physiologically and pathological relevant and permits protein therapy to treat human diseases. The method can also be used to deliver exogenous protein inside mammalian cells, wherein the exogenous proteins follow a similar secretion pathway as that of the endogenous protein.

摘要: Sterilization apparatus includes a monitoring system capable of continuously monitoring levels of a sterilant, such as hydrogen peroxide vapor. The monitoring system includes a sensor chamber joined in fluid communication with a sterilant supply conduit of the sterilization apparatus. A gas-detecting semiconductor sensing element, and associated temperature sensor, are provided within the sensor chamber to provide output signals corresponding to detected levels of sterilant. The sensor chamber isolates parametric influence, such as relative humidity, temperature and flow rate, to provide more accurate concentration level readings. A data collection circuit is operatively coupled to the sensors to provide an output corresponding to detected levels of sterilant within the apparatus. The data collection circuit may include an electronic memory to store the collected data, and signal connectors, such as data ports for a physical connection or transmitters for a remote transmission, to transfer the signals representative of the collected data to a remote communication unit. A processor chip or circuit may be provided proximate the sensor chamber, and a processor may be provided in communication with the remote communication unit. The monitoring system can be controlled using a circuit to select conditions for operation, or by remote control using near infrared or radio wave signals.

In addition the method includes the steps of providing a means for generating and receiving ultrasonic waves, a processing unit, and a means for agitating the flowable product. A flowable product is agitated using the means for agitating. The means for generating and receiving ultrasonic waves is then placed in ultrasonic contact with the flowable product and ultrasonic waves are directed into the flowable product. Ultrasonic waves are received using the means for generating and receiving ultrasonic waves and the received waves are transmitted to the processing unit where they are processed by establishing respective vectors for a plurality of reflective contents of the flowable product and by comparing the respective vectors to a predetermined, acceptable statistical range of vectors. The system includes a means for conveying a flowable product where the means for conveying includes an agitating means for agitating the flowable product. The system further includes a means for generating and receiving a plurality of ultrasonic waves, a means for selectively placing the means for generating and receiving in ultrasonic contact with the flowable product on said means for conveying, and a processing means for analyzing ultrasonic waves received by the means for generating and receiving. The processing means includes a means for establishing respective vectors for a plurality of reflective contents of the flowable product and a means for comparing the respective vectors to a predetermined, acceptable statistical range of vectors.
