    Abstract: An apparatus and system of validity conditions for pre-configured assistance data used during a long term evolution (LTE) Positioning Protocol (LPP) location procedure are described. The validity conditions are used to determine whether or not the assistance data remains valid for performing location measurements. The validity conditions may indicate that the assistance data is limited to a single positioning session or may be used for multiple sessions. In the latter case, the validity conditions may indicate geographic, timing, or number of sessions limitations. When the UE determines that the assistance data is no longer valid based on the validity conditions, the UE may request new assistance data prior to performing the measurements.

    Abstract: An apparatus of a Radio Access Network (RAN) node, a system, and a method. The apparatus includes one or more processors to, during a non-dual connectivity (non-DC) radio link control (RLC) acknowledged mode (AM) handover of a user equipment (UE) from a source RAN node to the RAN node: process a message including information on at least one of an uplink (UL) COUNT value, a downlink (DL) COUNT value, or a hyper frame number (HFN) corresponding to UL or DL packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) data units (DUs) communicated between the UE and the source RAN node; determine the at least one of the UL COUNT value, the DL COUNT value or the HFN from the message; and process the PDCP DUs based on the at least one of the UL COUNT value, the DL COUNT value.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive a SystemInformationBlockType1 from an eNB. The UE may determine that the eNB supports Fifth Generation Core (5GC) operation if the SysteminformationBlocklType1 message includes a plmn-Identity-5GC-r15 parameter. The UE may transmit a radio resource control (RRC) connection request message to establish an RRC connection. If it is determined that the eNB supports 5GC operation, and if the UE supports 5GC operation, the UE may encode the RRC connection request message in accordance with a default new radio packet data convergence protocol (NR PDCP) configuration; and may use NR PDCP for one or more subsequent messages.
