Abstract:
In a semiconductor package including a wiring board having a top surface, a bottom surface and a side face. The bottom surface is divided into a central area, and a peripheral area surrounding the central area. A semiconductor chip is mounted on the top surface of the wiring board so as to be electrically connected to a wiring pattern layer of the wiring board. An array of metal balls is provided as electrode terminals in the central area on the bottom surface of the wiring board. A plurality of additional electrode terminals are provided in the peripheral area on the bottom surface and/or the side face of the wiring board.
Abstract:
In each of a number of fuel assemblies loaded in a core of a boiling water reactor, a fuel holding portion of a lower tie plate holds lower end portions a plurality of fuel rods and at least one water rod. The water rod includes a rising pipe opened to a space in the lower tie plate below the fuel holding portion and introducing upward a coolant introduced to the rising pipe, and a falling pipe communicated with the rising pipe and introducing downward the coolant introduced through the rising pipe. The falling pipe has a coolant outlet opened to a second coolant passage defined between the fuel rods above the fuel holding portion. The rising passage is filled with the coolant during a period of rated power operation of the reactor, and a surface of the coolant is formed in the rising pipe during a period of non-rated power operation in which a flow rate of the coolant supplied to the fuel assemblies is lower than that during the period of rated power operation. As a result, influences of a transient event during the rated power operation can be suppressed, and the nuclear thermal-hydraulic stability of the core during the non-rated power operation can be improved.
Abstract:
A circularly polarized cross dipole antenna according to the present invention comprises a first L-shaped dipole antenna element including a first pair of strip conductors and a first bending portion and a second L-shaped dipole antenna element including a second pair of strip conductors and a second bending portion. The first L-shaped dipole antenna element is arranged in a first region of four regions delimited by crossing lines virtually set within a single plane and the second L-shaped dipole antenna element is arranged in a second region thereof which is diagonally opposite to the first region. The first bending portion and the second bending portion are close and opposite to each other such that the first and second L-shaped dipole antenna elements form a cross. The antenna also comprises a parallel-twin-line feeder extended from the first and second bending portions and provided so as to feed power within the single plane.
Abstract:
Each of short-length fuel rods 3 is arranged at a position other than in 3.times.3 corner regions 6 to 9 in such a manner as not to be simultaneously adjacent to a water rod 5 and others of the short-sized fuel rods. Gd fuel rods 4 are arranged at positions excluding the outer periphery, and the number of those of the Gd fuel rods 4 adjacent to the short-length fuel rods 3 is one-half or less the total number of the Gd fuel rods. At a transverse cross-section of a region upward from upper ends of the short-sized fuel rods 3, the amount of burnable poison contained in a polygonal region 10 whose vertexes are located at centers of those of the first fuel rods 3 arranged at the outermost layer is smaller than the amount of burnable poison outside the region 10. With this configuration, a critical power can be improved in consideration of both a distribution of the flow of coolant and a distribution of a thermal power in the fuel assembly.

(A) 50 to 99.5 parts by weight of a polyphenylene ether (B) 0.5 to 50 parts by weight of a partially hydrogenated aromatic alkenyl compound-conjugated diene block copolymer having a hydroxy group and based on 100 parts by weight of the above resin composition, (C) 0 to 950 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin and (D) 0 to 10 parts by weight of a phosphorous acid triester.
Abstract:
The lower end of each of a plurality of fuel rods is supported by a fuel supporting portion of a lower tie plate. The fuel supporting portion includes a plurality of second coolant paths for supplying a coolant from below the fuel supporting portion to a first coolant path defined above the fuel supporting portion and between the fuel rods. The total cross-sectional area of all the second coolant paths is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the first coolant path. A water rod disposed between the fuel rods each includes an ascending tube path having therein a coolant ascending path having a coolant inlet port opening to a region below the fuel supporting portion, for guiding upward the coolant supplied through the coolant inlet port, and a descending tube having therein a coolant descending path having a coolant delivery port opening to said first coolant path, for guiding downward the coolant guided by said coolant ascending path and discharging the coolant through the coolant delivery port to the first coolant path. The descending tube path is so disposed outside the ascending tube path as to define a gap, through which the coolant inside the first coolant path flows, between it and the ascending tube path.
Abstract:
A surface-mount network device which is to be mounted on a mounting substrate is disclosed. This device has an insulating substrate having wirings and passive elements. A plurality of lead terminals sandwich the insulating substrate from an end face of the insulating substrate. Terminal connection conductors are formed on the main surfaces of the insulating substrate and connect the lead terminals and at least one of the wirings and the passive elements. Sealing material cover at least connecting portions between the terminal connection conductors and the lead terminals. End portions of the lead terminals are bent to extend in a direction substantially parallel to the mounting substrate. This device is to be mounted vertically on the mounting substrate through the bent end portions of the lead terminals.
Abstract:
Provided is a fuel level detector for use in a fuel tank of an automobile or the like which can accurately detect a fuel level with a reduced power consumption exhibiting an improved reliability regardless of the ambient temperatures and the temperatures of liquid fuel in order to overcome the problems involved in a thermistor method and a metal wire method. A spontaneously heated sensing resistor having a high temperature resistance coefficient is formed on a substrate so as to detect a change in the resistance value due to cooling by heat of vaporization at a portion of the sensing resistor which is dipped in fuel as a differential output voltage. In order to prevent errors in the differential output voltage due to the correction of the ambient temperature in the fuel tank, a temperature compensating resistor is provided on the substrate.
