A heat-shrinkable polyester film having a multi-layer structure of at least two layers, among which at least one layer is a layer containing a PET bottle-recycled material, wherein a heat shrinkage percentage in a maximum shrinkage direction of a 10 cm square sample cut out from the film is 40% or higher, under the condition that the square sample is immersed in hot water of 95° C. for 10 seconds and then immersed in water of 25° C. for 10 seconds, to provide a heat-shrinkable polyester film which has excellent characteristics and which can be produced at a high rate, even when a PET bottle-recycled material is used.

Embodiments of the present invention restrain the head position accuracy from degrading due to torsional vibration of a head supporting unit. According to an embodiment of the invention, an actuator has a twisted carriage arm. A suspension is tilted in accordance with the twist of the carriage arm. When the carriage arm and the suspension torsionally vibrate, the vibration direction tilts against the normal direction of a recording surface in accordance with the twist. This technique decreases a peak value of off-track displacement that is caused by a head slider and is dependent on relationship between a skew angle and a torsional vibration direction.

A mechanism is provided for restraining and releasing an actuator suspension assembly in a magnetic disk device which is in a retracted position. In a magnetic disk device, according to one embodiment, a magnetic disk 4a is formed of an electrically conductive material and there is disposed a latch member 50 which holds an eddy-current magnet at one end thereof and is provided with a latching portion at an opposite end thereof. An actuator suspension assembly 8 lies in a retracted position and is restrained at a frame engaging portion 23 thereof by means of the latch member. The eddy current magnet is disposed in such a manner that a magnetic pole thereof is opposed to a surface of the magnetic disk at a position close to the disk surface. When the magnetic disk is rotated, an eddy-current is generated and a force is exerted on the eddy-current magnet, so that the latch member turns and releases the actuator suspension assembly.

Embodiments of the invention provide a bearing mechanism for a head used in a magnetic disk drive capable of preventing scattering of dust and dirt at a high level and a magnetic disk drive having the same. In one embodiment, a base is provided with a bearing hole. An inner shaft is joined to the bearing hole. The inner shaft is inserted internally in an outer sleeve mounted with a head stack assembly. The outer sleeve is swingably connected to the inner shaft by way of upper and lower bearing mechanisms. A receiving surface is formed around the bearing hole on the base. The receiving surface is higher by a predetermined height than a basic plane of the base. An extended portion is formed on an end portion on a lower side (the end facing the base) of the outer sleeve. A labyrinth seal structure is provided between an end face of the extended portion and the receiving surface.

The heat-shrinkable polyester film rolls according to the present invention is characterized in that the film rolls have (1) a heat shrinkage percentage at 85° C. in the maximum shrinkage direction of 20% or more; (2) a melt resistivity at a temperature of 275° C. of 0.70×108 Ω·cm or less; (3) when samples thereof are cut off at an interval of about 100 m and the fluctuation in thickness in the maximum shrinkage direction is measured, a thickness distribution width represented by the following formula of respective samples of 7% or less. Provided is a low-cost method for easily forming a transparent conductive pattern that has a low electrical resistance and high transparency, and that is highly invisible to the eye. The method for forming a transparent conductive layer pattern includes the steps of (1) detachably forming a transparent conductive layer on a substrate; (2) then forming, on a support, a negative-patterned heat-sensitive adhesive image; (3) bonding the substrate to the support so that the transparent conductive layer and the heat-sensitive adhesive layer are in close contact with each other; (4) forming a pattern of the transparent conductive layer on the substrate by detaching the support from the substrate to transfer a portion of the transparent conductive layer, the portion being in close contact with the heat-sensitive adhesive layer, to the heat-sensitive adhesive layer; and (5) fixing the transparent conductive layer on the substrate by applying a coating material for a protective layer onto a front surface of the substrate on which the pattern of the transparent conductive layer is formed and impregnating the transparent conductive layer with the coating material.
