摘要: Disclosed are a system, a method, and a computer program for reproducing high-quality image free from jerkiness even when the content reproducing speed is varied. The clock frequency set at a high level according as the content reproducing speed ascends is outputted from the system clock, and such variable clock signal outputted from the system clock is inputted to each processing section in charge of processing of content reproduction such as the data storage section, decoding section, buffer control section, output control section, and output display section. In these sections, processing of data is carried out by regulating the processing speed in accordance with the clock signal having a frequency conforming to the content reproducing speed. Such configuration allows all-frame variable-speed display without needing frame decimation operation even at a high-speed reproduction, for example, resulting in realization of reproduction of jerkiness-free, high-quality image.

摘要: The present invention enables processing results which are more accurate and which have higher precision as to events of the real world to be obtained. (An inverse gamma correction unit 5001 applies inverse gamma correction to an input image wherein light signals of the actual world have been projected and a part of the continuity of the light signals of the actual world has been lost, and which has been subjected to gamma correction. A data continuity detecting unit 101 detects, in the input image subjected to inverse gamma correction, data continuity corresponding to the continuity of light signals of the real world. An actual world estimating unit 102 estimates the light signals by estimating the continuity of the light signals of the real world, based on the data continuity. An image generating unit 103 generates an output image from the estimated light signals. A presentation system property correcting unit 5002 applies correction corresponding to the properties of the presentation system to the output image that has been generated. The present invention can be applied to an image processing device for generating images with higher resolution.

摘要: An optical semiconductor device and optical semiconductor integrated circuit are provided by combining, on a semiconductor substrate, materials having different refractive indices and different temperature dependence of the refractive indices. In particular, it becomes possible to control the temperature dependence of the oscillation wavelength with a propagating region having a material and/or structure whose temperature dependence of the refractive index is different from that of a gain region of the semiconductor laser. In addition, they can be configured to have a plurality of interfaces formed along the waveguide direction of the optical waveguide so that the light reflected off the first interface is weakened by the light reflected from the remaining interfaces. Also, they can be configured with the interfaces inclined to the propagating direction so that the waveguide loss due to the reflection and refraction between the optical waveguides whose refractive indices differ from each other can be reduced.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to enable the detection of a mixture ratio indicating the mixture state of a plurality of objects, such as a background image and a moving object image. A normal-equation adder 541 extracts mixed pixel data according to a motion, and also extracts background pixel data corresponding to the mixed pixel data so as to generate relational expressions for a designated pixel. A normal-equation calculator 542 detects the mixture ratio indicating the mixture state of the objects based on the relational expressions. The normal-equation adder 541 generates the plurality of relational expressions based on a first approximation in which foreground object components change substantially linearly, and a second approximation in which the mixture ratio changes substantially linearly. The present invention is applicable to a signal processing apparatus for processing images.

摘要: A vinyl alcohol polymer with a side chain being a hydroxyalkyl group having 2 to 20 carbon atoms is disclosed. Conventional water-soluble vinyl alcohol polymers gives, where they have a high interfacial activity, an aqueous solution with much-foaming and hence a problem when used for commercial purposes. On the other hand, the vinyl alcohol polymer of the present invention gives, where it is water-soluble, an aqueous solution with less-foaming in spite of its high interfacial activity, and hence an excellent industrial applicability. The vinyl alcohol polymer of the present invention is useful as thermoplastic resin and dispersion stabilizer. In addition, the vinyl alcohol polymer of the present invention is usable for various purposes, e.g. surfactants for various uses, paper coating agent, quality-improving agent for paper such as paper ingredients and pigment binders, adhesive for wood, paper, aluminum foil and inorganic materials, binder for nonwoven fabric, paint, warp sizing agent, fiber-processingagent, sizing agent for hydrophobic fibers such as polyester fiber, various films and sheets, bottles and fibers.

摘要: A fluidized bed combustor wherein a combustion chamber and a regeneration chamber are both contained in a single hollow body is provided. These two chambers are formed by vertically partitioning the body by a partition wall, which has an upper opening and a lower one, and also each have a perforated plate at the bottom part thereof on which a heat transfer medium containing a desulfurizing agent is placed and fluidized. The desulfurizing agent is transferred from the combustion chamber through the lower opening to the regeneration chamber and circulated by overflow through the upper opening again to the combustion chamber. Various modifications of the above-mentioned fundamental embodiment are proposed. Combustion and desulfurization are automatically and effectively carried out in a single apparatus to give a high percentage desulfurization, make the apparatus compact, and reduce the initial cost and the running cost thereof.
