Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide an electronic apparatus and methods for wireless communication. The electronic apparatus can include processing circuitry configured to identify, during an inter-system change of the electronic apparatus from a source network system to a target network system, at least one source session bearer between the electronic apparatus and the source network system. The processing circuitry can further map the at least one identified source session bearer to at least one target session bearer based on a mapping relationship that matches the at least one identified source session bearer with the at least one target session bearer to be established between the electronic apparatus and the target network system.

Abstract: A method of maintaining a proper forbidden tracking area identifier (TAI) list is proposed. A UE receives a service area list comprising one or more allowed tracking areas. The service area list may be carried by a configuration update command. UE compares if any of the allowed tracking area having a matching TAI in the forbidden TAI list. Accordingly, UE removes any allowed tracking areas having a matching TAI from the forbidden TAI list. In one embodiment, UE sends a REGISTRATION REQUEST message to initiate a registration procedure. In response, UE receives a REGISTRATION ACCEPT message, which may also carry a service area list. UE may remove the allowed tracking area having a matching TAI from the forbidden TAI list. However, if UE is registered for emergency services, then UE shall not remove the allowed tracking area from the forbidden TAI list.

Abstract: Solutions are proposed to facilitate the support of 3GPP PS_Data_Off feature. The PS_Data_Off feature prevents transport via 3GPP access of all IP packets except those related to 3GPP PS_Data_Off Exempt Services. In one example, signaling storms due to frequent PS_Data_Off reconfiguration are prevented. In another example, for multi-SIM devices and for devices that supporting WiFi access, UE reconfigures the PS_Data_Off feature upon a triggering condition is satisfied. In yet another example, upon status change of PS_Data_Off feature, UE initiates RAT change to improve performance, to reduce power consumption and cost, and to maintain service continuity. Furthermore, new AT commands and parameters are introduced to enable the PS_Data_Off feature.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for enhanced bearer continuity for the 3GPP network. In one novel aspect, the UE detects missing parameters for the inter-RAT bearer change in an idle state. The UE performs bearer preservation procedures to maintain the bearer continuity. In one embodiment, predefined/preconfigured parameter settings are used. In one embodiment, a mapping rule is used to map the missing parameter to a predefined value based on one or more known parameters. In another embodiment, the missing parameters are obtained from the network. In another embodiment, signaling procedures used to obtain the missing parameters. The signaling procedures include a service request, a UE-initiated bearer modification procedure. In one embodiment, the cell reselection is suspended such that the signaling procedure is performed to obtain the missing parameters before the cell reselection. In another embodiment, a RAU procedure is used upon detecting the missing of parameters.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided to reduce service interruption for intra-RAT and inter-RAT handover procedures. The UE performs a NAS signaling procedure via a NAS signaling connection in a mobile communication network. The UE monitors a radio resource status and determines whether a radio bearer has been or is being established for a RRC connection for data transmission. The UE determines whether to release the NAS signaling connection after completing the NAS signaling procedure based on whether the radio bearer has been established. In accordance with one novel aspect, a new AT command interface that can respond timer value and barring status to the TE is proposed. It reduces wasteful retries and saves power consumption of the TE. Through the new AT command interface, the TE can query backoff timer status. Via unsolicited result code (URC), the MT can detect backoff timer status change and report updated backoff timer status to the TE.

An apparatus may receive information of an application associated with one or more eco-friendly requirements. Then, the apparatus may select a URSP rule from a list of URSP rules, and the selected URSP rule includes one or more descriptors matching the one or more eco-friendly requirements. Also, the apparatus may determine a data session for routing traffic of the application between the apparatus and a wireless network based on one or more parameters included in a route selection descriptor (RSD) of the selected URSP rule.

Abstract: A method of handling authentication reject upon accessing an SNPN using credentials from a credential holder is proposed. A UE is configured with a “list of subscriber data”. The UE selects an SNPN using the configured list of subscriber data, e.g., based on the SNPN selection parameters contained in a selected entry of the list of subscriber data. Based on the selected entry, the UE selects an SNPN, and then tries to access the selected SNPN using credentials supplied by a subscribed SNPN. When UE receives an authentication reject message from the network, UE considers that the selected entry of the list of subscriber data is invalid. However, other entries related to the current selected SNPN are still valid. UE is still able to access the current selected SNPN, using credentials supplied in another entry of the list of subscriber data.

Abstract: A method of determining UE registration status for a UE that is registered to different PLMN networks over 3GPP and non-3GPP accesses is proposed. The UE triggers registration to a second Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) or Standalone Non-Public Network (SNPN) over a second access, and receives a REGISTRATION ACCEPT message from the second network over the second access. The REGISTRATION ACCEPT message carries a 5GS registration result IE having a 5GS registration result value. If the 5GS registration result value indicates that the UE is registered (or not registered) to a first network over a first access, then the UE may ignore the indication and considers the UE is not registered (or registered) to the first network over the first access.
