摘要: A sheet-supplying device has a sheet-accommodating tray, a raising/lowering unit, a first position sensor, a second position sensor, a controlling unit. The raising/lowering unit raises and lowers the sheet-accommodating tray substantially. The first position sensor detects a first position indicating a position in the stacked direction of one end portion of a topmost sheet stacked in the sheet-accommodating tray. The second position sensor detects a second position indicating a position in the stacked direction of another end portion of the topmost sheet. The controlling unit controls the raising/lowering unit to raise or lower the sheet-accommodating tray based on both the first position detected by the first position sensor and the second position detected by the second position sensor so that one end of the topmost sheet in the stacked status is positioned at a prescribed position in the stacked direction.

摘要: A micro-oscillating element includes a frame, a movable functional portion, and a torsional joint for joining the frame and the functional portion. The micro-oscillating element also includes first and second comb-tooth electrodes for generation of the driving force for the oscillating motion of the movable functional portion about the torsional joint. The first comb-tooth electrode includes a plurality of first electrode teeth each having a first conductor, an insulator and a second conductor laminated in the direction of the oscillating motion, where the first conductor and the second conductor are electrically connected with each other. The second comb-tooth electrode includes a plurality of second electrode teeth caused not to face the second conductor but to face the first conductor of the first electrode teeth during non-operation. The second electrode teeth are longer than the first conductor in the direction of the oscillating motion.

摘要: A driving method for driving an electrostatic actuator including a fixed electrode and a movable electrode opposing each other with a dielectric layer interposed therebetween, includes applying a first voltage, between the fixed electrode and the movable electrode, to bring the movable electrode into contact with the dielectric layer, and applying a second voltage, between the fixed electrode and the movable electrode, after application of the first voltage is stopped and before the movable electrode moves away from the dielectric layer. Here, the second voltage has a polarity opposite to a polarity of the first voltage and an absolute value smaller than an absolute value of the first voltage.
