The specified combination of antioxidant stabilizers is superior in inhibiting undesirable discoloration of thermoplastic polymers in the presence of compounded silver-based antimicrobial agents. A process of preparing such a composite, comprising compounding the phenolic antioxidant and organo-disulfide antioxidant with the thermoplastic polymer prior to compounding the silver-based antimicrobial agent with the thermoplastic polymer.

    摘要: A method is described for splicing together overlapping ends of first and second lengths of photographic film strips of common film strip width, comprising positioning a bonding element between an overlapping end of the first length of photographic film and a corresponding overlapped end of the second length of photographic film, and heating the bonding element to effect an adhesive bond between such film ends, wherein the bonding element comprises an induction heating receptive support and thermoplastic adhesive layers on each side of the support, and wherein the heating of the bonding element is performed by induction heating. The present invention allows for the preparation of photographic film splices, consisting of either homogeneous or dissimilar film bases, using a bonding element and induction heating to provide smooth yet strong splices. In particular, the invention enables successful splicing of acetate support (e.g., cellulose triacetate (CTA)) based films and polyester support (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate (PET)) based films either to themselves or each other. The invention provides a method of forming composite rolls of motion picture film containing different film bases as well as eliminating the need for emulsion skiving, and the use of toxic, flammable film cements when splicing CTA films.

    摘要: A thermal dye image receiver element has a substrate comprising a voided compliant layer and metalized layer. Disposed on the metalized layer is an opacifying layer that includes an opacifying agent and a dye receiving layer. This thermal dye image receiver element can be a duplex element with image receiving layers on both sides of the substrate, and it can be used in association with a thermal donor element to provide a thermal image on either or opposing sides of the receiver element. The metalized layer provides increased specular reflectance under resulting thermal dye images.

    摘要: An imaging element has a substrate, an extruded, non-voided compliant layer and an image receiving layer. The extruded, non-voided compliant layer has a heat of fusion of equal to or greater than 0 and up to and including 45 joules/g of compliant layer as determined in a temperature range of from 25° C. to 147° C. by ASTM method D3418-08 and a tensile modulus value of less than 5×1010 dynes/cm2. These imaging elements can be used as thermal dye image transfer receiver elements to provide an image in combination with a thermal dye donor element in a thermal dye transfer process.
