Abstract:
A titanium oxide nano tube material is configured so that crystal grains of a nano tube has a crystal structure oriented with the [001] direction of a tetragonal crystal system as a preferred direction. FWHM (Full Width at Half Maximum) of a rocking curve with respect to the (004) plane peak is 11.1 degrees to 20.3 degrees. The titanium oxide nano tube material has excellent photoelectric characteristics since the crystal grains of the nano tube are oriented with the (004) plane or the [001] direction of a tetragonal crystal system as a preferred direction.

A portable display device includes a display formed with electronic paper, an illuminating unit, and a controller. The electronic paper displays data in response to applied electrical current, and maintains displaying of the data in an absence of the applied electrical current. The illuminating unit selectively illuminates each particular region of a plurality of regions of the display and includes a plurality of light sources which are individually associated with one or more of the plurality of regions of the display. The controller activates the illuminating unit, selectively activating a first group of the plurality of light sources to illuminate a particular region of the display responsive to user contact, and the first group includes at least one of the plurality of light sources.

A method of manufacturing a patterned retarder includes forming a retarder material layer by applying a retarder material to a substrate; drying the retarder material layer at a first temperature; exposing the retarder material layer to linearly-polarized UV, wherein the retarder material layer has an optical anisotropic property; and heat treating the retarder material layer at a second temperature higher than the first temperature to increase the optical anisotropic property of the retarder material layer.

A nanotube apparatus is described. The apparatus includes a first electrode having a first edge. An array of nanotubes distributed in a closed path are also included. The closed path surrounds the first electrode and adjacent to the first edge. The closed path is also locally straight. Each of the nanotubes has an end that is free to oscillate. The apparatus also includes a second electrode having a second edge surrounding both the first electrode and the array of nanotubes. Methods are also described.

Provided is a liquid composition for treating stomatitis, the liquid composition including: an epidermal growth factor; an adhesive polymer; and at least one stabilizer selected from the group consisting of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and salts thereof, histidine, lysine and inorganic acid salts thereof, arginin and inorganic acid salts thereof, and dextran. The liquid composition includes a stabilizer selected from EDTA (or salts thereof) and a certain amino acid (or inorganic acid salts thereof) and thus, physicochemical and biological stability of the epidermal growth factor can be substantially increased. Thus, the liquid composition can be stored and distributed for a long period of time. The stabilized composition includes an adhesive polymer, and thus, when ejected in a spray form in the mouth of a user, the liquid composition can be quickly attached to an inflammation site and exhibits effectiveness for a long period of time.

Disclosed is a method for providing photochemical activity by coating a nano-layer of metallic oxide with nano-sized micropores on the particles or film of titanium dioxide (TiO2). The method for coating the nano-layer of porous oxides with hyperfine nano-sized pores on titanium dioxide (TiO2), comprising producing the solution containing metallic salts, providing the solution of metallic salts with TiO2 powder, hydrating the metallic salts and coating the hydrates on the TiO2 powder surface, and forming oxides from the hydrates coated on the TiO2 powder surface. The formed porous oxide coating layer increases the absorption capacity of water or dye molecules by increasing the specific surface area of titanium dioxide (TiO2) particles, thereby improving a photocatalyst characteristic or dye-sensitized fuel cell characteristic of TiO2.

The present invention relates to 6-(4-substituted-anilino)pyrimidine derivatives useful as an antiviral agent, and more particularly novel 6-(4-substituted-anilino)pyrimidine derivatives having an excellent inhibitory effect on replication of Hepatitis C virus; HCV), represented by the following formula I: in which R represents a C1-C4 straight or branched alkoxycarbonyl group, heterocycliccarbonyl group or carboxyalkyl group; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, a preparation method thereof, and an antiviral pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound as an effective ingredient. The 6-(4-substituted-anilino)pyrimidine derivatives according to the present invention have an excellent inhibitory effect on replication of Hepatitis C virus (HCV) and thus can be advantageously used as a therapeutic or prophylactic agent of hepatitis C.
