A Viterbi decoder corrects errors during a transmission procedure in a blind mode. A training symbol storing block stores training symbols. An output signal of the Viterbi decoder and symbols are provided to the backward filter in accordance with a blind mode or a training mode. A Kalman gain is calculated in a Kalman gain calculating block and an error signal is calculated by comparing an equalized signal, symbols, and the output signal of the Viterbi decoder with one another. A tap coefficient is updated by using the calculated error signal and the Kalman gain.

A receiver for improving reception ability of digital broadcasting service by switched beam-forming is disclosed. The receiver includes: an array antenna having a plurality of antenna elements for receiving signals of the digital broadcasting service; a demodulation unit for demodulating the receiving signals corresponding to each of antenna elements in the array antenna; beam-forming unit for generating a predetermined number of beam-forming signal by applying a beam-forming weights in order to direct to a predetermined direction according to the modulated signal from the modulation unit; and beam selection unit for selectively receiving signals of desired direction according to the beam forming signal. The present invention effectively eliminates multipath based on space filtering by utilizing beam-forming method with an array antenna for improving receiving performance of digital television broadcasting with VSB.

The three-dimensional audio signal processing system of the present research simplifies the shape of a human head into a rigid sphere, acquires three-dimensional audio signals by setting up mikes on the rigid sphere, and applies the acquire three-dimensional audio signals to diverse existing reproduction systems. The system includes a three-dimensional audio signal acquiring unit for acquiring audio signals by using a predetermined number of mikes set up on the rigid sphere; and a three-dimensional audio signal post-processing unit for converting the acquired audio signals to reproduce in diverse reproduction environments such as five-channel, four-channel, headphone, stereo, and stereo dipole reproduction environments.
