A laminate, adapted for manufacturing frames of metal beam leads that are bonded to integrated circuit chips comprising:(a) a flexible metal strip(b) a layer of a first resist adhered to one surface of the metal strip, and(c) a layer of a second resist adhered to the opposite surface of the metal strip, wherein the second resist is a negative-working resist which forms a semi-interpenetrating polymer network-II upon curing and comprises a homogeneous blend.(A) a solvent soluble polyimide-siloxane containing about 0.5-30 weight percent silicon and (B) an ethylenically unsaturated multifunctional monomer. The siloxane units in the polyimide-siloxane have from 10 to about 200 ##STR1## linkages per unit, more preferably from about 15 to about 100 linkages, and most preferably from about 40 to about 100 linkages per siloxane unit. A second embodiment of the invention comprises a metal strip having one side thereof, a composition obtained by curing the above-identified curable composition. Curable compositions of this invention can be cured by either actinic radiation; for example, ultraviolet light, or by thermal radiation. In the cured composition, the polymer produced upon polymerization of the monomer, and the polyimide portion of the polyimide-siloxane form a homogeneous blend, in which the siloxane portion of the polyimide-siloxane is phase separated. The cured composition is a semi-interpenetrating network. The cured composition is especially useful in the fabrication of electronic devices such as frames of metal beam leads to be bonded to integrated circuit (IC) chips since it reduces stress at the polymer/metal interface, thereby reducing curl in such thin, coated objects.

A curable composition which comprises a homogeneous blend of (a) a solvent soluble polyimidesiloxane containing about 0.2-30 weight percent silicon and (b) an ethylenically unsaturated multifunctional monomer. The siloxane units in the polyimide-siloxane have from 10 to about 200 ##STR1## linkages per unit, more preferably from about 15 to about 100 linkages, and most preferably from about 40 to about 60 ##STR2## linkages per siloxane unit. Another embodiment provides the composition produced by curing the above-described composition. The curable compositions of this invention can be cured by either actinic radiation, e.g., uv light, or thermal radiation. In the cured composition, the polymer produced upon polymerization of the monomer, and the polyimide portion of the polyimide-siloxane form a homogeneous blend, in which the siloxane portion of the polyimide-siloxane is phase separated. The cured composition is a polymer network, and is particularly useful as a negative-working resist in the fabrication of electronic devices such as integrated circuit (IC) chips. The cured composition reduced stress at the polymer/metal interface of coated objects, thereby reducing curl in thin, coated objects.

A first front connector is located at a side of a first front card to provide first contacts for first signal traces on the first front card. A second front connector located at a side of a second front card to provide second contacts for second signal traces on the second front card. The composition of the present invention is a miscible blend comprising a first addition copolymer and a second addition copolymer, each having a weight-average molecular weight of about 30,000 to 100,000 and a number-average molecular weight of about 5,000 to 50,000, and each comprising repeating units of (1) at least one of an aromatic vinyl monomer of the structure, ##STR1## where Ar is phenylene or naphthylene and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are H or lower alkyl; and (2) at least one of (a) an acrylic ester of the structure ##STR2## where R.sup.3 is linear or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl and R.sub.4 is H or lower alkyl, or (b) a divinyl compound of the structure ##STR3## where R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are H, Cl, or CH.sub.3. The polymer composition comprises a miscible blend of the above-described first and second addition copolymers. The first addition copolymer further comprises repeating units of an acidic vinyl monomer, and the second addition copolymer further comprises repeating units of a basic vinyl monomer. Also in accordance with the present invention, an electrophotographic toner receiver for thermally assisted transfer comprises a substrate having a layer of a thermoplastic polymer composition on the surface thereof. The invention provides a fuser roll useful for heat-fixing an electrographic toner to a substrate, wherein the roll comprises a core having thereon a base cushion layer comprising a condensation-crosslinked poly(dimethylsiloxane) elastomer, characterized in that the base cushion layer has nickel oxide particles dispersed therein in a concentration of from 20 to 40 percent of the total volume of the base cushion layer.The base cushion layer of such a fuser roll has been unexpectedly found to exhibit only minimal weight loss, creep, and changes in hardness, over time, when subjected to conditions of elevated temperature and cyclic stress.
