    摘要: A display apparatus includes a plurality of pixel circuits, wherein each of the pixel circuits comprises a light emitting element, a drive transistor for supplying the light emitting element with a current, as a driving current, of a quantity corresponding to a potential between a gate and a source of the drive transistor, a first switch for controlling a flow of the current supplied to the light emitting element, a second switch for switching between a first state of setting the potential between the gate and the source of the drive transistor and a second state of holding the potential between the gate and the source of the drive transistor, and a circuit for supplying the first switch with a signal for switching a state of controlling the flowing of the current of the driving current. In addition, a circuit supplies the second switch with a signal for switching the second switch between the first and second states, and a circuit sets the potential between the gate and the source of the driving transistor at a potential to flow the driving current so as to set the light emitting element at a low level driving state, at a time of starting a power source or a waiting state of the power source, and under a state that the first switch suppresses the flowing of the driving current and the second switch is at the first state.

    摘要: An active matrix type display apparatus in which a plurality of pixel circuits each having an electroluminescent element EL, a 1st FET to control a current flowing in the EL, and a 2nd FET provided between a gate and a drain of the 1st FET are arranged in a matrix, the plurality of pixel circuits arranged in one direction are connected to a data line every column, the 2nd FET is turned on for a predetermined time period, and an image data current flowing in the data line is supplied to the gate and drain of the 1st FET, thereby writing a current value of the image data current. A preliminary charging circuit is connected to the data line. Before the writing operation in the predetermined time period is expired, a current of a predetermined current value is applied to the image data current so that a gate-source voltage of the 1st FET is equal to or larger than a threshold value. Thus, writing imperfection due to a variation in threshold voltage of the 1st FET is solved.

Respective data lines of the pair of data lines are connected by the switches to two different image signal lines, and the switches connecting the pair of data lines to corresponding image signal lines are activated simultaneously.

    摘要: A voltage-current converting circuit turns on a transistor M1a to give a blanking signal to the gate of a transistor M5a (PMOS transistor) through capacities C1a and C2a, and turns on a transistor M3a with the transistor M5a diode-connected to supply a current from a power source voltage VCC. Next, the voltage-current converting circuit turns off the transistor M3a to intercept the supply of the current, and then resets the capacities C1a and C2a so that the gate of the transistor M5a may take a threshold voltage. Next, the voltage-current converting circuit turns off a transistor M7a to intercept the current path between the drain of the transistor M5a and the ground potential GND. In this state, the voltage-current converting circuit turns on the transistor M5a to give the video signal to the gate of the transistor M5a through the capacities C1a and C2a. Next, the voltage-current converting circuit turns on the transistor M6a to form a current path between the transistor M5a and a signal line data. Then, the voltage-current converting circuit outputs the current generated between the source of the transistor M5a and the drain thereof from the source side to the signal line data.
