The chip antenna has a dielectric base which is formed as a rectangular parallelepiped containing a spirally wound conductor whose winding axis is perpendicular to the longitudinal dimension of the dielectric base and parallel to the mounting surface. The configuration of the winding cross section S, which is perpendicular to the winding axis of the conductor, is a rectangle whose longitudinal vertical dimension is H and whose horizontal dimension is W. One end of the conductor is led out to the surface of the dielectric base to form a feeding end that is connected to a feeding terminal for applying a signal to the conductor, and the other end thereof forms a free end within the dielectric base.

    摘要: An electronic component which is employed in the frequency range in the microwave band or above is mounted on a circuit board. The circuit board comprises two linear transmission line members, a ground electrode, and an electric insulating substrate provided with the transmission line members and the ground electrode on its major surface. The electronic component comprises external electrodes which are formed on its side surfaces. Holding patches which are formed on the lower surface of the electronic component are bonded to the ground electrode by solder members, thereby fixing the electronic component to the circuit board. At this time, small clearances are defined between the electronic component and the circuit board through the solder members, whereby the external electrodes are electromagnetically coupled with the transmission line members and the ground electrode through the clearances respectively. Thus, it is possible to obtain a mounting structure for an electronic component, which can suppress development of unnecessary inductance components.

    摘要: A chip antenna 10 is formed of a rectangular prism substrate 11 made of a dielectric material (relative magnetic permeability: approximately 6.1) essentially consisting of barium oxide, aluminum oxide, and silica. A conductor 12 is spirally wound within the substrate 11 in the longitudinal direction of the substrate 11. A power feeding terminal 13 is formed on a surface of the substrate 11 and is connected to one end of the conductor 12 in order to apply a voltage to the conductor 12. A trimming electrode 14 generally formed in the shape of a rectangle is formed on a surface of the substrate 11 and is connected to the other end of the conductor 12. With the above configuration, a capacitive coupling is generated between the trimming electrode 14 and a ground (not shown) of a mobile communication unit on which the chip antenna 10 is mounted, and between the trimming electrode 14 and the conductor 12.

    摘要: An antenna is formed by attaching a metallic chassis to a dielectric base plate on which are formed an input electrode, a connector electrode and grounding areas. The metallic chassis has a planar part serving as its radiating part and attachment parts formed by bending mutually opposite edge parts of this planar part substantially perpendicularly thereto, and the input electrode, the connector electrode and one of the grounding areas are each connected to either of the attachment parts. An antenna unit is formed by mounting the metallic chassis of such an antenna inside an opening formed in a printed circuit board on which are formed a feed electrode and grounding electrodes formed with an edge portion of each abutting this opening and by connecting the input electrode to the feed electrode, and the grounding electrode to one of the grounding areas.
