摘要: A battery with a high capacity and superior cycle characteristics and an anode active material used in the battery are provided. An anode includes an anode active material capable of reacting with lithium. The anode active material includes at least tin, cobalt and carbon as elements, and the carbon content is within a range from 9.9 wt % to 29.7 wt % inclusive, and the ratio of cobalt to the total of tin and cobalt is within a range from 30 wt % to 70 wt % inclusive. Thereby, while a high capacity is maintained, cycle characteristics can be improved.

摘要: In a mobile communication system having a plurality of radio packet channels of different transmission rate with each other between a base station and a mobile station, undesirable interference to adjacent cells of adjacent base stations is decreased. Signal quality of a receive signal at a mobile station is measured, and the better said signal quality is, the higher packet channel is assigned. Thus, although signal quality is poor because of long distance between a base station and a mobile station, no increase of transmission power of a base station is requested. Thus, interference to adjacent cells is decreased. When high rate packet channel is selected, short packet transmission time may be assigned so that amount of data transmission is kept uniform in spite of said signal quality.

摘要: An optical communication module having a roughened bottom of a silicon bench for suppressing optical crosstalk. The roughened bottom prevents stray laser beams from reflecting toward a photodiode. The roughened bottom is further covered with a photoabsorbent resin, pigment or adhesive for absorbing the stray laser beams at a bottom. A cladding of a lightwaveguide are narrowed and are painted with a photoabsorbent resin, pigment or adhesive for absorbing horizontally stray beams propagating in the cladding.

摘要: With the object of providing a method for separating glycolipids (particularly gangliosides) capable of processing a large number of samples easily and at low cost, and capable of recovering multiple types of glycolipids with high recovery, in the method for separating glycolipids of the present invention (a) a sample solution obtained by hydrolysis of an extract derived from a biological sample with a mixture of a nonpolar solvent and a polar solvent is first brought into contact via a semipermeable membrane with a solution having lower osmotic pressure than the sample solution, and (b) the contact is continued until the sample solution divides into two or three layers, and the middle layer and/or bottom layer are/is separated.

摘要: First and second IP cores are formed on one chip. Each of the first and second IP cores has metal layers. In the first IP core, an uppermost layer of the metal layers is thick and is a layer on which a core power source line is formed. In the second IP core, a metal layers equal in level to the uppermost layer in the first IP core becomes an intermediate layer. In the second IP core, thin intermediate layers are formed on this intermediate layer. Thin intermediate layers are layers on which signal lines are formed and have a narrow wiring pitch. In the second IP core, a layer on which a power source line is formed is provided on the thin intermediate layers.

摘要: An optical communications module in which electrical crosstalk is reduced. The term “optical communications module” represents a surface-mounting-type optical tranceiver, transmitter, or receiver module. The optical communications module has a following structure. (a) An Si substrate carries at least one signal-transmitting section comprising an LD, at least one signal-receiving section comprising a PD, or both together with other components. (b) An insulating substrate is bonded to the back face of the Si substrate. (c) A separating groove separates the Si substrate along the or each boundary line between the sections in order to prevent an AC current flowing through the Si substrate. To attain this object, the separating groove is provided from the top surface of the Si substrate to some midpoint of the insulating substrate. This structure reduces the electrical crosstalk between the signal-transmitting section and the signal-receiving section, between the signal-transmitting sections, and between the signal-receiving sections.
