摘要: A mixing device of an exhaust gas purification system of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The mixing device includes swirl tube, a mixing tube arranged in the swirl tube, and an exhaust gas supply tube leading into the swirl tube such that exhaust gas can enter the swirl tube tangentially from the exhaust gas supply tube through a cut-out opening in the lateral surface of the swirl tube and forms a flow rotating around the mixing tube. The exhaust gas completely enters the mixing tube and leaves the interior of the swirl tube completely through the mixing tube. A metering device can spray urea solution into the swirl tube such that the urea solution enters the mixing tube and is entrained by the rotating flow of the exhaust gas and is discharged from the swirl tube through the mixing tube together with the exhaust gas.

摘要: An after-treatment (AT) system for a flow of exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine includes a first AT device and a second AT device in fluid communication with and positioned in the exhaust gas flow downstream of the first AT device. The AT system also includes an exhaust passage configured to carry the exhaust gas flow from the first AT device to the second AT device. The AT system additionally includes an injector configured to introduce a reductant into the exhaust passage. The second AT device includes an inlet cone having a volute defining a spiral primary path for the exhaust gas flow into the second AT device and configured to generate a swirling motion of and turbulence in the exhaust gas flow. A vehicle employing the AT system is also disclosed.

摘要: A mixer is disclosed for use in a reductant dosing system. The mixer may have an impingement floor located within an intended fluid injection path and generally parallel with a flow direction through the mixer. The mixer may also have a first side wall connected along a lengthwise edge of the impingement floor, a second side wall connected along an opposing lengthwise edge of the impingement floor, and a plurality of shelves extending between the first and second side walls. The plurality of shelves each may include a plurality of vanes that promote mixing of an injected fluid. One or more of the plurality of shelves may extend different distances upstream opposite the flow direction.

摘要: An aftertreatment system comprises a SCR system including at least one catalyst for decomposing constituents of an exhaust gas produced by an engine. An exhaust conduit is fluidly coupled to the SCR system and is structured to deliver the exhaust gas to the SCR system and defines an exhaust conduit opening on a sidewall thereof. A mounting plate is positioned within the opening and includes a plurality of fluid channels. At least one mounting plate opening is defined through the mounting plate downstream of an inlet of the plurality of fluid channels and in fluid communication therewith. The fluid channels are structured to receive and direct at least a pair of exhaust gas streams to a respective opening so that they arrive at the respective opening from different directions. The pair of exhaust gas streams combine with a reductant inserted into the opening before flowing into the exhaust conduit.

The steam dispersion system may include a steam dispersion tube with at least one opening defined on an outer surface of the steam dispersion tube and a hollow interior. The insulation covers at least a portion of the steam dispersion tube, the insulation defining an opening aligned with the opening of the steam dispersion tube, wherein the insulation meets 25/50 flame/smoke indexes for UL723/ASTM E-84 and has a thermal conductivity less than about 0.35 Watts/m-K (2.4 in-hr/ft̂2 deg F.). A nozzle defining a throughhole may be placed within the opening of the steam dispersion tube, the throughhole being in fluid communication with the hollow interior of the steam dispersion tube to provide a steam exit.

A downstream baffle is in the mixer housing at the downstream end such that the downstream baffle is axially spaced from the upstream baffle. The downstream baffle includes at least one outlet opening. A housing opening is formed within the mixer housing at a location between the upstream and downstream baffles, and which is configured to receive a doser. A cone has a cone outlet opening aligned with the housing opening, and an extension portion extends outwardly from a wide end of the cone to provide a wall that surrounds the cone outlet opening.
