Abstract: A printing platform includes a printing engine with one or more printheads arranged such that the ink drops are jetted vertically upwards against the action of gravity; and a substrate transportation system where the normal to the surface in contact with the substrate is parallel and with opposite direction to the travelling direction of the jetted ink drops. It is necessary to counteract the weight of the substrate during the printing process to avoid it from falling under the action of gravity. This is achieved through any of a mechanical element that interferes with the falling of the substrate and that keeps it in place; or a system that generates adhesion forces between the element that transmits the motion to the substrate, typically a conveyor belt, and the substrate through the action of electrostatic forces, an air pressure differential between both faces of the substrate, or any other suitable mechanism.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides substrate processing apparatus and a substrate processing method for composing nozzles having different drop sizes into one or more pack units and performing pixel printing by using nozzles belonging to the thus composed packs. The substrate processing method includes extracting nozzles that have different drop sizes as different sized dropping nozzles, composing extracted nozzles into one or more packs, and performing pixel printing on the substrate with nozzles included in the pack by discharging a substrate treatment solution to a common target location on the substrate.

Abstract: A printer deposits material onto a substrate as part of a manufacturing process for an electronic product; at least one transported component experiences error, which affects the deposition. This error is mitigated using transducers that equalize position of the component, e.g., to provide an “ideal” conveyance path, thereby permitting precise droplet placement notwithstanding the error. In one embodiment, an optical guide (e.g., using a laser) is used to define a desired path; sensors mounted to the component dynamically detect deviation from this path, with this deviation then being used to drive the transducers to immediately counteract the deviation. This error correction scheme can be applied to correct for more than type of transport error, for example, to correct for error in a substrate transport path, a printhead transport path and/or split-axis transport non-orthogonality.

Abstract: A printing system capable of accurately positioning a lenticular array in registration with a rectilinear raster includes a printer that is capable of printing onto a printable surface. The printer has a main support surface on which the printable surface rests. The system further includes a series of raised parallel relief features being spatially formed along a printable substrate that is supported by the main support surface. The raised parallel relief features are raised to a sufficient height above the printable substrate such that when the lenticular array is disposed upon the raised parallel relief features, each raised parallel relief feature fits and is disposed within a valley formed between two respective adjoining lenticules of the lenticular array.

Abstract: A thermal transfer printer having a pressing roll and a thermal printing head. The thermal transfer printer is configured to pass pre-aligned cable ties through a gap formed between the pressing roll and the thermal printing head and to imprint a labeling section of a respective cable tie by means of a transfer film likewise passed through the gap. The gap for passage of a respective cable tie head has a partial cross-sectional expansion in the feed-through direction through the gap.
