The invention is directed to vehicle suspension systems and components thereof including attachment devices for mounting an axle alignment and/or load reacting mechanism to an axle. Disclosed herein are axle towers used for connecting a torque box to an axle. The axle tower of the present invention can include one or more features to absorb and disperse loads to the axle. The axle tower has a more contoured or curved edge on the side plate that experiences a compressive force than a similar edge on the side plate that experiences a tensile force. Furthermore, the axle tower has appendages that extend out from the side plates providing a large footprint on the axle housing. At least one of the appendages extending from the side plate experiencing a compressive force has a curved or radiused corner. Also, the axle towers include an inner plate having an off-centered slot where the troque box connects. The off-centered slot provides additional material to absorb the compressive force experienced on one side of the inner plate.

Also according to the invention, a level control algorithm provides additional damping when the seat is leveled outside the normal leveling zone. The degree of additional damping provided is a function of the distance the seat exceeds the normal leveling zone.

One of the first and second ends of each of the first and second weight bearing members are rotatably connected to a portion of the wheel assembly and the other of the first and second ends of each of the first and second weight bearing members are rotatably connected to the vehicle frame. The first and second weight bearing members are oriented in substantially parallel planes between the wheel assembly and the vehicle frame and cross one another in superposition along a crossing axis, substantially prohibiting the vehicle frame from rolling during a cornering operation of the vehicle.

A vehicle stabilizer device is presented that is particularly useful for automobile and trucks, but which is applicable in a broad sense to any kind of vehicle that requires or which would benefit from stabilization between a chassis and running gear supporting the chassis. The stabilizer device of the invention provides a pair of beams, each of which is connected to an associated one of the frame members of the chassis, with the opposite end of that beam being connected to the running gear associated with the opposite frame member of the chassis. Intermediate their ends the beams are juxtaposed and interconnected by a pivotal and slidable union which permits a scissoring action between the beams when forces are imposed thereon. Such scissoring action cooperates with the inherent resilience of the beams to stabilize relative movement between the chassis and the running gear of the vehicle.
