Thus, the fluid pump can be tuned to provide a substantially constant outflow of fluid irrespective of the speed of the input drive.     摘要: An electric motor with a permanent-magnet rotor having a viscous coupling to the shaft. In its electric part, the motor can be likened to a permanent-magnet synchronous motor, in which the rotor is mounted freely on the shaft and is contained in a hermetic casing which is rigidly coupled to the shaft and contains a liquid which fills the gap between the rotor and the container. The rotor therefore drives the casing only by virtue of the presence of the interposed liquid, so that the load is not rigidly connected to the shaft and the resulting operation of the motor can be likened to that of an asynchronous motor allowing mutually different rotation rates of the shaft and of the rotating field.

    摘要: An encapsulated magnet assembly has a magnet encapsulated during a two-step molding process. The first step includes molding a first molded section over a magnet assembly. The second step of the process includes molding a second molded section over the magnet and the first molded section in such a manner that the entire magnet is covered by the two molded sections completely. A first parting line is defined between the first and second molded sections along an elongate tapered section of the first molded section at the one end of the assembly. A second parting line is defined between the first and second molded sections at a dovetail on the first molded section. An outwardly tapered surface is provided on the dovetail. The two parting lines define leak-free seams between the two molded sections thereby sealingly encapsulating the magnet within the two molded sections.

    摘要: An absorption refrigeration system employing a pair of staged air-cooled absorbers and a pair of staged adiabatic evaporators. Strong solution from the generator passes first to the lowpressure absorber from which it flows through the high-pressure absorber back to the generator. Refrigerant liquid is flashcooled in the high-temperature adiabatic evaporator stage from which it passes to the low-temperature adiabatic evaporator for further flash-cooling and from which it is passed through a refrigerant heat exchanger for cooling a refrigeration load and back to the high-temperature adiabatic evaporator. Liquid transfer apparatus is provided for pumping liquid in the system driven by a single hermetically sealed motor, the shaft of which mounts at one end a centrifugal pump for circulating liquid refrigerant and at its opposite end a scoop pump for circulating absorbent solution. The shaft is journaled in tapered refrigerant cooled and lubricated bearings which additionally function as seal means to minimize the possibility of intermixture of refrigerant and solution.

A torque transfer system for a centrifugal pump includes a bearing sleeve above an impeller, the bearing sleeve and a hub of the impeller surrounding a rotatable shaft and coupled to the rotatable shaft by a key, the bearing sleeve having a stepped bottom edge, a top edge of the hub stepped inversely to the bottom edge of the bearing sleeve such that the top edge and the bottom edge interlock with a clearance between longitudinally extending portions of the interlocked edges, wherein upon reduction of torque transference between the key and the sleeve, the clearance closes such that the longitudinally extending portion of the stepped top edge contacts the longitudinally extending portion of the stepped bottom edge thereby maintaining rotation of the sleeve with the rotatable shaft. A centrifugal pump includes modules with a series of stepped, interlocked impellers.
