    摘要: A filter condition indicator system is described herein. A pressure differential switch monitors air pressure across a filter, and a transmitter coupled to the pressure differential switch sends a signal to a networked device. If the pressure differential near the filter triggers the switch, then a “dirty” signal is sent to or retrieved by a mobile device which indicates that the filter is dirty and should be replaced. The filter condition indicator is able to be used by bypassing a thermostat and sending an alert to a computer or mobile device wirelessly. Alternatively, the filter condition indicator system described herein is able to be used in conjunction with a previously installed furnace/thermostat system by utilizing the pre-existing thermostat wiring. The filter condition indicator system is able to be used with HVAC systems, air conditioning systems, other heating/cooling systems, or other systems or devices.

    摘要: A modulating burner system includes a speed control responsive to inputs received from a thermostat. The speed control modulating a blower which provides combustion air and a vacuum proportional to the speed of the blower. The modulating burner system further includes a gas amplifying valve in communication with the vacuum via a vacuum conduit. The gas amplifying valve providing modulated combustion gas responsive to the vacuum; wherein modulated combustion air and gas communicated to a burner for continuously variable firing rates of 50 to 100% of the maximum firing rate. The modulating burner system further includes control circuit dampers for smoothing out vacuum spikes and fluctuations.

The apparatus includes an efficient fan controller for direct-expansion air conditioning and gas furnace, heat pump, electric resistance, and hydronic heating systems. For gas furnace heating systems, the apparatus and methods include energizing the heater ventilation fan from the low speed used for heating to the high speed used for cooling after time period P1 to deliver more heating output to satisfy the thermostat sooner and save heat source energy. For heat pump, electric resistance, and hydronic heating systems the apparatus and methods include energizing the fan relay after a short fan-on time delay P0 based on the previous HVAC system off-cycle time P11. For all of these HVAC systems, the apparatus and methods vary the extended fan-off time delay P2 based on air conditioning compressor or heat source operational time P3.

A zone control unit can include a return air section that receives return air from serviced building zones and can mix the return air with a supply of outside air. The mixed air can be heated and/or cooled by the zone control unit and discharged to serviced building zones in a controlled manner. An exhaust air system can be used to extract air from serviced building zones. An HVAC zone control unit can include a local control unit with an Internet protocol address. The local control unit can include a memory and a processor for storing and executing a control program for the zone control unit. The control program can control of the zone control unit in response to commands received via the Internet.

The HVAC system may include HVAC components, sensors, and one or more register vents that may include vent dampers (e.g., electronically controllable vent dampers or manually operated vent dampers). Opening and closing of the vent dampers may facilitate creating zones or sub-zones in the HVAC system configuration. An HVAC control system may receive a request for conditioned air in one or more of the zones, determine a damper setting for at least one of the vent dampers, communicate the determined damper setting to a vent damper or user interface, determine which HVAC components should be active, if any, and/or provide controls signals to activate or keep active the HVAC components that are determined to be active.
