    Abstract: An ozone-generating faucet includes an ozone generator mounted on a mixer tube between a water supply tube and a spout, a water intake valve connected between the mixer tube and the water supply tube to control supply of water from the water supply tube to the mixer tube, an electromagnetic valve controlled to close/open the water intake valve, the ozone generator including an ozone-generating unit, a control circuit board, and an ozone supply tube connected between the ozone-generating unit and the mixer tube, the control circuit board being controlled by control switch to turn on the ozone generator and open the electromagnetic valve, enabling ozone to be supplied to water running through the mixer tube.

    Abstract: The present invention describes a process for the application of a powder coating to a non-conductive substrate by first exposing the non conductive substrate to a combination of steam and heat at temperatures between 70° C. and 140° C. for a period between 5 seconds and up to 10 minutes, followed by electrostatic application of a powder coating to the substrate which is grounded; this simple and reliable pre-treatment method allows an efficient application of powder coatings to non-conductive substrates resulting in uniform and even deposition of the powder coating over the whole surface including edges and with no adverse effects on the subsequent curing of the powder film.

    Abstract: A system massages a user's feet and generates an electro-kinetic airflow that contains safe amounts of ozone that can deodorize the user's feet or socks. The system includes an ion generator comprising a high voltage pulse generator whose output pulses are coupled between left and right first and second electrode arrays. Preferably the first electrode array includes first and second pointed electrodes, and the second electrode array includes annular-like electrodes having a central opening coaxial with the associated pointed electrode. Preferably the annular-like electrodes are formed from a single sheet of metal by extrusion or punching such that the surface of the annular-like electrodes is smooth and continuous through the opening and into a collar region through which the air flows. Particulate matter in the ambient air electrostatically adheres to the smooth continuous surface of the annular-like electrodes.

    Abstract: A plasma dry scrubber may be constructed with a RF generator that applies a high frequency signal, via an impedance matching unit, to first and second antennas provided at upper and lower parts, respectively, of a plasma generator. Gas flowing into the plasma generator is decomposed by magnetic fields generated by the antennas, and the decomposed gas is discharged to a vacuum pump via a gas outlet pipe. The magnetic fields generated by the antennas are distributed more uniformly in a plasma generating chamber so that plasma discharge is accompanied uniformly. Non-conductive isolating plates made of ceramic of quartz isolate the antennas from the plasma generating chamber. The thickness of the isolating plates may be altered, if required, whereby any damage to the plasma dry scrubber due to the pressure from a vacuum pump, is prevented, even if it is used for a long time.

    Abstract: An electro-kinetic electro-static air conditioner includes a mechanism to clean the wire-like electrodes in the first electrode array. A length of flexible MYLAR type sheet material projects from the base of the second electrode array towards and beyond the first electrode array. The distal end of each sheet includes a slit that engages a corresponding wire-like electrode. As a user moves the second electrode array up or down within the conditioner housing, friction between slit edges and the wire-like electrode cleans the electrode surface. Another embodiment includes a bead-like member having a through opening or channel, through which the wire-like electrode passes. As the conditioner is turned upside down and rightside up, friction between the opening in the bead-like member and wire-like electrode cleans the electrode surface. The through channel may be symmetrically formed in the bead-like member, but preferably will be asymmetrical to create a mechanical moment and increased friction with the surface of the wire-like electrode being cleaned.

    Abstract: A non-thermal plasma reactor element is provided comprising a multi-cell stack prepared from a plurality of formed building blocks of dielectric material, the walls of the building blocks defining a cell having an exhaust passage for flowing gas to be treated therethrough. A conductive print forming an electrode and connector is disposed on at least one wall of each of the cells and outer insulative plates, disposed on opposite ends of the multi-cell stack, are provided to protect the conductive print. The simplified design eliminates the need for spacers between individual cells, thus reducing the total number of components. Use of a three-dimensional conductive print further simplifies preparation by eliminating the need for a secondary conductive print along the edge of the multi-cell stack after assembly.

    Abstract: A device and method for the treatment of fluids using electrostatic fields generated by a high voltage electric current, which reduces or eliminates calcification, scaling and microbiological contamination. A high voltage DC current is applied to a core electrode, generating an electrostatic field which traverses a dielectric sleeve surrounding the core electrode and charges the exterior surface of the dielectric sleeve, charging inorganic particles and, in the case of a biological contaminant such as bacteria, killing the organism. Fluid flowing through the device is agitated by a combination of spiral vane sections surrounding the dielectric sleeve and helical baffle sections lining the housing wall. Charged inorganic particles coalesce into spherical aggregates which resist adhesion to pipes and vessels and can be filtered by techniques such as reverse osmosis without deteriorating the filter membrane. The device can thus be used to pre-treat water so as to enhance the performance and durability of purification systems such as reverse osmosis filtration systems.
