Abstract:
A process is provided for manufacturing a high quality cloth having a width of 150 cm or any width in which likelihood of occurrence of defects such as color shading, rub marks, wrinkles and creases due to fabric dyeing method is eliminated and color fastness is enhanced.A process for manufacturing a woven or knit fabric using yarn dyed silk comprises the steps of dyeing (step 3) sericin which covers the periphery of silk fibers and fibroin which is located inside thereof into the same color; making yarn dyed silk (step 4, 5) by doubling and twisting the dyed silk fibers; making a cloth (step 6) by weaving or knitting the yarn dyed silk; swelling (step 7) the yarn dyed silk which constitutes the cloth by dipping the cloth into hot water in a tub; and decomposing (step 8) sericin of the yarn dyed silk of the cloth with an enzyme in hot water in a tub.
Abstract:
A composition is provided for improving decolorizing and desizing garments and fabrics with a reducing agent in a washer. A surfactant is added so as to improve wet out and to reduce the surface tension of the water.
Abstract:
Compositions based on blends of certain specified poly(vinyl alcohol) copolymers and various starches are described which are useful as sizes, and can have improved ability to be desized from fabrics compared with the starches alone. The specific poly(vinyl alcohol) copolymers useful in the blends with the starches are copolymers having a high level of acrylic ester comonomer. The blend sizes are useful in producing woven materials since they are excellent sizes, and are uniquely adaptable to caustic desizing.
Abstract:
The invention relates to phosphoric acid partial esters derived from a block ethoxylated and propoxylated C.sub.9-16 aliphatic alcohol. These phosphoric acid partial esters are useful as wetting agents, especially in the pre-treatment of cellulosic textile materials.
Abstract:
A process for the simultaneous desizing and bleaching of textile material made from cellulose fibers, which comprises treating the textile material with a liquor containing per liter of water(a) from 1 to 10 grams of a peroxide activator,(b) from 10 to 80 ml of hydrogen peroxide,(c) from 1 to 10 grams of urea,(d) from 1 to 10 grams of a surfactant and a compound of weakly alkaline reaction in such an amount that the pH of the liquor is 7 to 8.
Abstract:
A method for desizing, scouring and bleaching a textile product, in which a natural cellulose-type textile product is soaked with a neutral aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution, steamed in a saturated water vapor atmosphere at 120.degree. C. to 160.degree. C., soaked immediately with a hot caustic soda solution without cooling and washing under the same saturated water vapor, and steamed again in a saturated water vapor atmosphere at 120.degree. C. to 160.degree. C.
Abstract:
The graft polyester compositions of the invention are especially useful as size compositions since they can be applied to the yarn from a solventless mixture and require only at least one of the application of heat or irradiation to graft polymerize the size in situ on the yarn. The graft polyester of the invention comprises the reaction product of (1) an unsaturated polyester which is the reaction product of at least one polycarboxylic acid reactant, preferably a dicarboxylic acid reactant and at least one polyhydric alcohol reactant, preferably a diol, wherein a minor effective proportion of at least one of said reactants is .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated with (2) at least one monovinyl monomer reactant comprising at least one acidic monovinyl monomer containing at least one carboxyl group or a mixture of said vinyl monomer with any monovinyl monomer.
Abstract:
Graft polyesters which are useful as adhesives and coatings and especially useful in processes for sizing spun and continuous filament synthetic organic and inorganic fibrous yarn. One embodiment of the invention is a textile size composition having free carboxyl groups which is prepared in situ on a textile yarn by the application of heat or radiation to a mixture of an unsaturated polyester reactant and a monovinyl monomer reactant comprising an acidic monovinyl monomer having at least one carboxyl group or mixtures thereof with any monovinyl monomer.
Abstract:
An aqueous solution containing impurities such as size is applied to a textile material and the textile material subsequently is exposed to treatment by an organic. solvent. Between the application of the aqueous solution and the exposure of the material to the solvent, the material is exposed to a saturated steam treatment in which the impurities are dissolved or degraded.
Abstract:
A process for desizing and bleaching textile goods containing, or consisting of, cellulose, by simultaneous enzymatic desizing and pretreatment with a solution of sodium dithionite and a conventional heavy metal complexing agent in the presence of a buffer system at pH 6-9 and subsequent conventional peroxide bleaching in the presence of little or no silicate as a stabilizer. The process improves the bleaching effect and the economics and reduces the risk of fiber damage or destruction or of silicate deposits without an additional treatment stage.
