摘要: A virtual filler is inserted in a virtual model of a dental site between a first tooth and a second tooth in the virtual model. One or more of the first tooth or the second tooth represent a natural tooth of a patient. Points of the first tooth, the second tooth and the virtual filler are transformed into a voxel volume. A geometry of an updated virtual filler is determined by transforming a surface of the voxel volume into a polygonal mesh.

The systems and methods may include displaying a perspective of a 3D digital model such that a portion of a second object is behind a first object, where the first object has a higher priority than the second object. The portion of the second object behind the first object may not be viewable through the first object and a reference point on the portion of the second object may not be selectable. The priority may be changed such that the second object has a higher priority than the first object, where once the priority is changed, that the portion of the second object behind the first object may be viewable through the first object and the reference point on the second object is selectable by the user.

摘要: A method, executable by a processor, of generating a 3D digital model associated with a given tooth is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a preliminary root 3D digital model of a root portion the given tooth, and then generating an augmented root 3D digital model therefrom by obtaining data of a longitudinal axis of the given tooth, and data indicative of a tooth gingiva segmentation contour between the crown and root portions; determining for each root vertex, a respective new position relative to the longitudinal axis in which the respective new position is defined by a shift distance value and a shift direction vector; moving each of the root vertices to their respective new position by applying their respective shift distance values along their respective shift direction vector; and storing the augmented root 3D digital model for determining an orthodontic treatment for the subject.

摘要: A method and a system for determining a configuration of an open edge for a set of orthodontic appliances are provided. The method comprises: receiving a 3D digital model representative of a surface of a subject's arch form including teeth and a gingiva; obtaining, in the 3D digital model, along a surface of the gingiva, a respective position for a given control point of a plurality of control points, the plurality of control points defining the open edge for a given one of the set of orthodontic appliances; determining, based on the positions of the plurality of control points, a respective vector of positioning values for each of the plurality of control points; storing the respective vector of positioning values for each of the plurality of control points for further use in determining a respective configuration of the open edge for each other one of the set of orthodontic appliances.

摘要: An orthodontic system and method for aligning at least one tooth of an upper jaw or a lower jaw of a patient. In the system and method at least one orthodontic appliance can be provided which may include at least one force exerting member for applying a force to move the at least one tooth, a tooth movement sensor for obtaining tooth movement data, and a tooth movement monitor for calculating at least one of the distance the at least one tooth has moved and a current position of the at least one tooth from the tooth movement data. An electronic control console may be operatively connected to the force exerting member and in data communication with the tooth movement monitor, for controlling the operation of the force exerting member using the at least one of the distance the at least one tooth has moved and the current position of the at least one tooth.

摘要: Appliances for intraoral delivery of agents are provided. In some embodiments, an appliance includes a shell having an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface defining a plurality of tooth-receiving cavities configured to apply a repositioning force to a patient's teeth, and the outer surface oriented away from the patient's teeth. The appliance can also include a reservoir integrally formed in the outer surface of the shell, the reservoir being configured to store at least one agent. The appliance can further include a membrane covering at least a portion of the reservoir to control release of the agent into an intraoral cavity of the patient. The membrane can include a plurality of pores that are configured to open based at least in part on a temperature of the patient's intraoral cavity to allow the at least one agent to pass therethrough.
