摘要: An anti-microbial metal coating may be applied to filter membranes for use in actively depressing microbial viability in filtration applications. The anti-microbial metal coating may be applied to substrates that are considered to be sensitive to damage by conventional metal coating techniques or resistant to metal bonding. The coating may be applied from a salt absorbed to the substrate in solution, converted to a reducible form with a conversion agent, and reduced to active metal format through a low temperature plasma treatment.

摘要: Compositions and methods are provided for use in controlling souring and corrosion causing prokaryotes, such as SRP, by treating oil and gas field environments or treatment fluids with a newly identified bacterial strain ATCC Accession No. PTA-124262 as a self-propagating whole cell that produces an anti-SRP bacteriocin in situ. In another aspect, the methods use one or more toxic peptides or proteins isolated therefrom in methods to control unwanted prokaryotic growth in these environments.

摘要: The subject invention provides microbe-based products, as well as their use to improve oil production and refining efficiency by, for example, remediating the disposable layers in oil tanks and other oil storage units. In preferred embodiments, the microbe-based products comprise biochemical-producing yeast and growth by-products thereof, such as, e.g., biosurfactants. The subject invention can be used to remediate rag layer and/or other dissolved solid layers that form in water-oil emulsions. Furthermore, the subject invention can be used for remediating solid impurities, such as sand, scale, rust and clay, in produced water, flow-back, brine, and/or fracking fluids.

摘要: A treatment for a large body of water to make the water suitable for recreational purposes is disclosed. A sedimentation zone and a dissipation zone are designated in the water body. A disinfection method based on a CT index and a flocculant composition are utilized in the sedimentation zone to aid in the settling of different microorganisms and/or contaminants. Also, the water in the sedimentation zone is minimally disturbed to facilitate the sedimentation process. A permanent chlorine residual is maintained in the dissipation zone by adding an efficient amount of a chlorine disinfectant such that at least a 0.5 mg/L free chlorine level is maintained in the water volume. Water is injected into the dissipation zone by means of one or more inlet nozzles. Along with natural currents produced by winds and water temperature differences, a water dissipation pattern from within the dissipation zone into the sedimentation zone is generated.

摘要: The present invention relates to a liquid and drink purification and stirring device. The device is handheld and can be used for a variety of liquid drinks, such as water, juices and wines. The device is designed like a stirring rod or straw and has the material composition that enables the device to attract and adhere various solutes thereto when suspended in liquid mediums. The device features an elongated wand and a handle. The wand is made from food-grade copper and when submerged in a liquid, attracts unnatural solutes, and kills pathogens such as bacteria, algae, viruses and many more. The handle can be made from any food grade and FDA approved material and can be integrated or removably-attached to the wand. The device is also used for stirring the liquid and enables consumers to play a greater role in managing their own health and to prohibit consumption of pathogens

摘要: A ballast water treatment method includes: a step of supplying a sterilizing component to a ballast pipe while taking ballast water into a ballast tank through the ballast pipe; a first measurement step of measuring the concentration of the sterilizing component in the ballast water after the sterilizing component is supplied; a circulation step of returning the ballast water stored in the ballast tank to the ballast pipe through a circulation pipe; a second measurement step of measuring the concentration of the sterilizing component contained in the ballast water returned to the ballast pipe; and a step of supplying the sterilizing component to the ballast pipe 2 when the concentration of the sterilizing component measured in the second measurement step is less than 0.2 times the concentration of the sterilizing component measured in the first measurement step. In the first supply step, the sterilizing component is supplied to the ballast pipe 2 such that the concentration of the sterilizing component measured in the first measurement step becomes 6 mg/L or more.

摘要: An automatic rainwater collection system, with a high degree of autonomy and sensitivity, which allows the collection and use of rainwater, in open spaces, areas of difficult access and/or lacking of water extraction systems, as well as in domestic spaces such as gardens or roofs, without additional adaptations for its use and which works with solar energy. The automatic rainwater collection system is conformed by: a flower-shaped obturable rainwater receiving element, which comprises: a plurality of internal petals and a plurality of external petals that can be opened or closed in an automated manner, a sensor with high sensitivity to droplet impacts and/or relative humidity, which is operatively connected to a motor to control the opening and closing of the plurality of petals of the rainwater receiving element; a support frame, which functions as a support for the obturable rainwater receiving element and as a water storage media; a modular system for filtering water, connected to said central media of water accumulation, which comprises a plurality of filtering modules, which provide different filtering options depending on the quantity and combination thereof in order to obtain different qualities of water for use in several activities; and a water storage media, which further functions as base and support of the collection system.
