Abstract:
In Internet FAX communications, a CPU acquires a recipient mail address designated by a user or an originator mail address indicated in received mail. The CPU then stores the acquired mail address in a recipient-address storage area or an originator-address storage area that is included in an information storage section. If any one of mail addresses stored in the recipient- or originator address storage area is selectively designated when a recipient of the Internet FAX communications is designated, the CPU sets the selectively-designated mail address as a recipient address.
Abstract:
An image forming method and apparatus with determination of set values including the steps of grouping image data into a plurality of groups by resolution, determining picture sizes of the image data of a first group, of which the image data have a resolution smaller than a predetermined resolution from among the plurality of groups, and outputting the image data of the first group, of which the picture sizes have been determined. In this way, by determining the picture sizes and the output resolution modes suitable for the resolutions of the image data group, it is possible to eliminate the undesired steps of individually selecting pictures, picture sizes, and output resolution modes, and prevent the image data from being erroneously output.
Abstract:
A system to set a scan image as wallpaper includes a scanner and a host. The scanner includes a scanning part to scan a document and to form image data, an interface to communicate with another medium, and a control part to control the scanning part and the interface to transfer the image data to another medium via the interface. The host is connected with the scanner, and includes a driver program unit to drive the scanner, an application program unit to generate an image file by processing the image data transferred from the scanner, and a monitor to display the image file. When an automatic wallpaper setting is selected, the host processes the image data formed by the scanner according to a scan command to generate an image file, and automatically sets the image file as wallpaper on the monitor. Accordingly, user inconvenience in the process of scanning and setting wallpaper can be prevented, and wallpaper of image quality and size corresponding to a screen size and resolution of the monitor can be provided.
Abstract:
A system and method is presented for tuning a scanned image to a specified printing device for enhanced image quality output. The method generally has the steps of first receiving a scanned image in digitized format and reading a specification of how the image was scanned including the input document format; the output document format, syntax, and parameter semantics. Loading a device profile of the target printing system as input wherein the parameters that define the enhanced print quality for a printing system are specified by the device profile of that system. Producing an output image such that when printed on the target printer, it produces enhanced quality output. In an alternative embodiment, the system and method further comprises the step of re-sampling the scanned image if the resolution of the primary system does not match that of the scanning system in order to re-screen the scanned image halftones to the ones that are suitable for the designated printing system and to adjust the color gamut of the scanned image to match that of the printing system.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting an information transfer request from a client data terminal which is coupled to a local area network to a called data terminal which is coupled to the local area network and a public switched telephone network includes the steps of collecting, storing, generating, creating, sending, and transmitting. The collecting step collects information sets of communication capabilities of different data terminals on the local area network on the client data terminal. The storing step stores the information sets into a memory. On the client data terminal, the generating step generates data of facsimile image information with reference to one of the information sets pertaining to the called data terminal. The creating step creates on the client data terminal an information transfer request for requesting transmission of the facsimile image information to an arbitrary facsimile machine connected to the public switched telephone network. The sending step sends the information transfer request from the client data terminal to a communications controller. The transmitting step transmits the information transfer request from the communications controller to the called data terminal through the local area network upon a completion of the sending step.
Abstract:
This invention provides a first communication apparatus, which makes a facsimile communication via a packet communication network and can describe different contents image header information each including a date, time, source information, destination information, and the like in image data having a predetermined number of pixels upon sending the image data to a plurality of destinations, and a communication method. This invention also provides a second communication apparatus which makes a facsimile communication via a packet communication network and has a first mode in which image header information such as a date, time, source information, destination information, and the like can be described in image data having a predetermined number of pixels and can send the image data, and a second mode in which image data having one of various resolutions and an indefinite number of pixels can be sent.
Abstract:
In response to a request from a host device using an initial protocol, capability information including information indicative of a plurality of communication protocols is returned to the host device, and a communication protocol, designated by the host device based on the capability information, is set, and print data is received from the host device by the set communication protocol. In a system using an interface connected to various types of devices, e.g., an IEEE 1394 serial bus, a communication protocol, which is used when a host device transfers print data to a printer, is not limited to that unique to the manufacturer of the device.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a selector on the body of a digital camera that permits a user to select a resolution for a JPEG image that is generated from a RAW image and is embedded in the RAW image's data structure. The user may select from available embedded JPEG resolutions of, for example, 1440×960, 2304×1536, or 3024×2016. The present invention also provides a display on the digital camera that shows the user which of the available JPEG resolutions currently selected.
Abstract:
Provided is a method of controlling a portable digital apparatus which includes a display panel that displays a plurality of folder icons used to set operating conditions of the portable digital apparatus. The method allows a user to select one among the plurality of folder icons. The method includes selecting a folder icon by displaying a fixed selection-frame whose position is fixed on a screen of the display panel and by moving all of the folder icons sequentially according to the user's operation so that each folder icon is positioned in the fixed selection-frame in order, and controlling a setup by controlling a folder icon positioned in the fixed selection-frame to be an operation target selected by the user.
