Abstract: A vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head and a mirror mount that attaches at the interior surface of the vehicle. The mirror head includes an actuator having a body portion attached at a back plate at the rear of the reflective element and an adapter plate attached at the mirror mount and pivotable relative to the body portion. The actuator includes a pair of arcuate gear elements that attach at one end to the adapter plate and that are movably received at the body portion. The actuator includes a pair of motors operable to rotatably drive respective gears that engage the respective arcuate gear elements. When the gears are rotably driven, the gears impart pivotal movement of the body portion and mirror head in tandem relative to the mirror mount to adjust the mirror head relative to provide a rearward view for a driver of the vehicle.

Abstract: A method of testing a seal of a rearview mirror assembly includes providing a mounting arm for a vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly. The mounting arm includes an attachment end configured to be mounted at an exterior portion of a vehicle and providing a mounting element that is at least partially transparent. The attachment end is mounted to the mounting element with sealant disposed between the mounting arm and the mounting element to establish a test seal between the mounting arm and the mounting element. A shim is disposed between the mounting arm and the mounting element. A thickness of the shim is based on a threshold interference level of the test seal. Based on a determination of a gap between the mounting arm and the mounting element, determining that an interference between the mounting arm and the sealant is less than the threshold interference level of the test seal.

Abstract: A vehicular charge port closure system includes a cover panel disposed at a vehicle and an actuator. The actuator includes an electrically operable motor that, when electrically operated to move the cover panel between a closed position and an opened position, drives gears to impart movement of an output element. The output element is connected to the cover panel. A clutch is disposed between one of the gears and the output element. When the motor is operated to drive the gears, the clutch is engaged to move the cover panel, and when the cover panel is manually moved, the clutch is disengaged. The clutch includes a magnetic biasing element.

Abstract: A radar sensor assembly includes a sensor printed circuit board (PCB) having a first side and a second side opposite the first side. A radar transceiver is disposed at the first side of the sensor PCB and includes a plurality of antennas configured for transmitting and receiving radio frequency (RF) radiation. A heat sink is disposed adjacent to the radar transceiver and is configured to dissipate heat from the radar transceiver. The radar transceiver is sandwiched between the heat sink and the sensor PCB. The heat sink is configured to allow the RF radiation to pass therethrough without guiding the RF radiation.

Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror system includes an exterior rearview mirror assembly configured for attachment at a vehicle and an electrically-operable actuator. An exterior mirror head is movable relative to an exterior portion of the vehicle via operation of the actuator. The exterior mirror head accommodates an exterior mirror reflective element attached at an attachment plate. A heater pad is disposed between the exterior mirror reflective element and the attachment plate. An outermost side of the exterior mirror reflective element is exposed to and is viewable by a driver of the vehicle and is contactable. The attachment plate includes wall structure that spans a perimeter circumferential edge of the exterior mirror reflective element. No part of the exterior mirror head encroaches onto the outermost side of the exterior mirror reflective element. No part of the exterior mirror head overlaps the outermost side of the exterior mirror reflective element.

Abstract: A vehicular charge port closure system includes a cover panel disposed at a vehicle. The cover panel is movable between a closed position, where the cover panel conceals a charge port of the vehicle, and an opened position, where the cover panel is positioned to allow access to a charging connector of the charge port. A deployment mechanism is operable to move the cover panel between the closed and opened positions. An ice breaking mechanism is disposed at the cover panel and, when ice is present at the peripheral edge of the cover panel, the ice breaking mechanism is operable to break the ice from the peripheral edge of the cover panel so that the cover panel is movable from the closed position toward the opened position.

Abstract: A vehicular frameless interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head and a mounting portion. The mirror head includes a mirror reflective element and a mirror casing. The mirror reflective element includes a glass substrate having a planar front side and a planar rear side. No portion of the mirror casing overlaps the planar front side of the glass substrate of the mirror reflective element. A camera is disposed within the mirror casing behind the mirror reflective element. With the mounting portion of the mirror assembly mounted at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle, the camera views a driver of the vehicle, and when the mirror head is moved by the driver to adjust a rearward view of the driver, the camera moves in tandem with movement of the mirror head. The camera is part of a driver monitoring system of the vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicular lighted exterior rearview mirror system includes a lighted exterior rearview mirror assembly and a light module. With the mirror assembly attached at a side of a vehicle, the light module is at least in part disposed at a portion of a mirror head of the lighted exterior rearview mirror assembly that faces forward in a direction of forward travel of the vehicle. The light module includes a two dimensional array of light emitting diodes (LEDs) that has at least two rows of LEDs, each row of LEDs having a plurality of LEDs. With the mirror assembly attached at the vehicle, the two dimensional array of LEDs, when electrically powered, emits light at least in the direction of forward travel of the vehicle. The LEDs of the two dimensional array of LEDs may be controlled responsive to a turn signal of the vehicle being actuated.

Abstract: A vehicular cabin monitoring system includes a radar assembly disposed in a cabin of a vehicle and operable to capture radar data. The radar assembly includes at least one radar transmit antenna that is operable to transmit radar waves and at least one radar receive antenna that is operable to receive radar waves. The transmitted radar waves are transmitted at least to a hotspot zone in the cabin of the vehicle. A data processor is operable to process radar data captured by the radar assembly. The system, via processing at the data processor of radar data captured by the radar assembly, determines movement within the hotspot zone of a body part of an occupant present in the cabin of the vehicle. The system, responsive to determining movement within the hotspot zone of the body part of the occupant, generates a control command.
