A bearing carrier has a bearing body including a first material. The bearing body has an exterior surface defining a bridge land with a finger cut and rotatably supports a first and second gear. The first and second gears intermesh with one another for pressurizing fluid traversing the gears between a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet defined in a housing enveloping the bearing carrier. The bridge land is defined in a second material integral with the first material.

A hydraulic control unit that delivers hydraulic fluid to a limited slip differential constructed in accordance to the present disclosure can include a hydraulic control unit housing, a motor, a gerotor gear assembly and an interface plate. The hydraulic control unit housing can have a housing mounting surface. The motor can include an output shaft and a motor mounting plate that has a motor mounting surface. The gerotor gear assembly can include an inner and outer gerotor gear. The outer gerotor gear can be formed of a first material having a first coefficient of expansion. The interface plate can be mounted between the housing mounting surface and the motor mounting surface. The interface plate can receive the outer gerotor gear in an interference fit. The interface plate is formed of a second material having a second coefficient of expansion that is substantially equivalent to the first coefficient of expansion.

The current application discloses various embodiments where a portion of a fluid end pump body is made of a first material the other parts of the pump body are made of a second material where the first material is a material having better resistance to fatigue and the second material used is a material of less quality and cheaper than the first material.

A steel piston with an oil gallery, and process for forming a steel piston oil gallery channel, which corresponds to the complex shape of the combustion bowl in the piston crown. The oil gallery channel is first forged to the basic shape that corresponds to the shape of the walls of the combustion bowl. Machine-turning surfaces in the oil gallery channel can be machine-finished as desired. Surfaces in the oil gallery which cannot be machined with conventional turning operations, such as recesses and protrusions into the channel, are left in the original forged condition.

A vane pump is provided that may include a rotor having a plurality of slots formed on an outer circumferential surface thereof; a vane slidably inserted into each of the plurality of slots; and a cam ring configured to receive the rotor therein and having a inner circumferential surface in contact with an end portion of the vane. The rotor may be formed of nodular graphite cast iron, the vane may be formed of high speed tool steel, and the cam ring may be formed of alloy cast iron.

The piston is provided with pin bosses having pin bores and the ring element has at least an outer region of a piston crown having a circumferential top land and a circumferential ring belt provided with ring grooves. The piston base body and piston ring element are joined together by way of corresponding, conical joining surfaces configured on them.

In a reciprocating engine piston, added equipment to renew the piston pin's oil film once per crankshaft rotation. The equipment is located between the connecting rod's small end and the underside of the piston crown. There is a plunger carrier with a plunger, and a saddle with a plunger bore. The saddle closely straddles the plunger carrier, maintaining the alignment of the arcuate plunger with the arcuate plunger bore, for a plunger stroke without friction. The small end's natural oscillation during crankshaft rotation powers the plunger's working cycle. There is an oil-filling stroke and a delivery stroke. The delivery is to the saddle's top, which is just below the piston crown. The oil pressure pushes upward on the piston crown, lifting the piston slightly and the piston pin bosses off the piston pin. In the small gap thus created, new oil can enter, recreating the oil film.

A piston of an internal combustion engine, includes a piston upper part and a piston lower part which are supported via corresponding joining webs, in each case forming a joining zone connected in a material-to-material manner by means of a multi-orbital rotary friction weld. The joining webs and which are in each case directly connected have a wall thickness S1, S2 which is identical as far as possible. The piston encloses a combustion-chamber recess and at least one cooling duct which are made centrally or eccentrically in the piston. The combustion chamber recess and the cooling duct form a circular contour or a contour which deviates from a circular shape.

In a piston (1) for combustion engines are included a piston crown (2), a piston skirt (3) and portions (4A, 4B; 13) for receiving a piston pin (5) by means of which the piston is pivotally supported on a connection rod, whereby a protection (7) covering a major portion of a bottom side of the piston crown is supported on the piston pin. The protection is fitted in sealing engagement with a first inner portion of the piston skirt, forming an uninterrupted gap in relation to a main portion of the piston crown and with at least a portion of the protection being provided at a distance inside a second outer portion of the piston skirt.

A rotor blade assembly is provided that includes a rotor blade and a rotor blade tip member. The rotor blade is provided with an integrated lightning down conductor and is attachable or attached to a rotor hub of a wind turbine. The rotor blade tip member is made of an electrically insulating material and is detachably attached or adapted to be detachably attached to a free ending of the rotor blade by a connecting device. The connecting device is a wire or a rod made of an electrically conductive material establishing or adapted to establish a mechanical and electrical connection of the rotor blade tip member with the lightning down conductor of the rotor blade.
