    摘要: The present invention relates to a coating composition containing an organic solvent, a mixture of a polyhydroxy component (A) and a polyisocyanate component (B), and a pot life extender. The polyhydroxy component has an acid value from 5 to 25 mg of KOH/g, and a mixture consisting of 0.1 to 4.0% by weight, based on the total weight of the coating composition, of a compound having a tertiary amino group or an amide group (C), and of 1 to 15% by weight, based on the total weight of (A) and (B), of a tertiary monoalcohol is used as pot life extender. 2-methyl-2-propanol and 2-methyl-2-butanol are excluded as the tertiary alcohols.The present invention also relates to the use of the coating compositions in motor car refinishing in particular.

    摘要: The invention relates to an aqueous cathodic electrocoating material which contains a synthetic resin binder containing amino and/or hydroxyl groups and capable of being rendered water-soluble by the addition of an acid. The synthetic resin binder contains a mixture of crosslinking agents, as well as pigments, fillers, corrosion inhibitors, surface coating assistants, if appropriate catalysts, and organic solvents in an amount of up to 15% by weight, based on the total weight of the coating material. The mixture of crosslinking agents consists of at least two crosslinking agents which possess different reactivities and are based on activated esters and/or polyisocyanates blocked with different blocking agents. Different reactivities means that the crosslinking reactions begin at temperatures which are at least 10.degree. C. apart. The crosslinking reagent which reacts first is present in an amount of from 15 to 60 mol %, based on the mixture of crosslinking agents.

    摘要: Photopolymeric letterpress printing plates which are to be developed with water or water/alcohol mixtures after imagewise exposure and have, arranged one on top of the other on a dimensionally stable substrate, a layer (A) which may be bonded to the dimensionally stable substrate by an adhesion-promoting layer and is crosslinkable by actinic radiation, a layer (B) which is sensitive to IR radiation and, if required, a parting layer arranged between layer (A) and layer (B), and a peelable protective film applied to the layer (B), are produced by a process in which the layer (A) contains a mixture of at least one polymeric binder which is soluble or dispersible in water or water/alcohol mixtures, copolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated organic compounds which are compatible with the polymeric binder and a photoinitiator, the layer (B) sensitive to IR radiation has an optical density.gtoreq.2.5 in the actinic range and contains a film-forming polymeric binder which is soluble or dispersible in water or water/alcohol mixtures and a substance which is finely distributed in this binder and absorbs IR radiation, and the layer (B) sensitive to IR radiation is structured by laser ablation and is then exposed uniformly to actinic radiation, developed and dried in a conventional manner. The novel process is suitable for the production of letterpress printing plates.
