Abstract:
This invention relates to a method for making shaped bodies having a silica content of at least 85 wt %, to shaped bodies made by such method, to catalyst compositions comprising shaped bodies made by such methods and to catalytic conversion processes using catalyst compositions comprising shaped bodies made by such methods. The method of making the shaped bodies comprises the steps of a) forming shaped bodies from a mixture obtained from at least one amorphous silica powder, at least one silica sol having a pH below 7, and at least one polymeric organic extrusion aid, optionally supplemental liquid medium and optionally crystallites of a zeolite or zeolite-type material; b) drying the shaped bodies obtained in step a); and c) heating the shaped bodies to a temperature ranging from about 500° C. to about 800° C.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods for improving the pharmacokinetics of protease inhibitors and protease inhibitor precursors and pharmaceutical composition comprising protease inhibitors or protease inhibitor precursors of formula I and a cytochrome P450 monooxigenase inhibitor; when the compound of formula I comprises an amino group, pharmaceutically acceptable ammonium salts thereof, wherein R1 may be, for example, (HO)2P(O)—, (NaO)2P(O)—, alkyl-CO— or cycloalkyl-CO—, wherein X may be, for example, F, Cl, and Br, and wherein R2 and R3 are as defined herein.
Abstract:
Bulk metallic catalysts comprised of a Group VIII metal and a Group VIB metal and methods for synthesizing bulk metallic catalysts are provided. The catalysts are prepared by a method wherein precursors of both metals are mixed and interacted with at least one organic acid, such as glyoxylic acid, dried, calcined, and sulfided. The catalysts are used for hydroprocessing, particularly hydrodesulfurization and hydrodenitrogenation, of hydrocarbon feedstocks.
Abstract:
A vehicle-dispatching system includes a service center and a plurality of hosts disposed in respective vehicles, and one of the vehicles is selected for dispatching when the service center receives a vehicle request from a passenger. For facilitating drivers to decide whether to accept the task, a message including location information of the passenger is sent to dispatching units of the hosts by the service center to trigger navigating units of the hosts to reveal respective route information for the drivers' reference. Once one or more drivers decide to accept the task, they may trigger the dispatching units to issue respective task-accepting signals to the service center. The service driver then selects one of the vehicles for dispatching by sending a dispatching signal to the dispatching unit of the selected vehicle. The dispatching signal then triggers the navigating unit of the selected vehicle to automatically reveal navigating information.

Abstract:
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) play an important role in morphogenesis, angiogenesis, wound healing, and in certain disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, tumor invasion and metastasis. MMPs are thought to be regulated by a variety of cytokines, growth factors, hormones and phorbol esters. This regulation occurs on three levels; alteration of gene expression, activation of the latent zymogen and inhibition by the tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMP). We report here a new agent that regulates the level of MMPs.

Abstract:
A transparent capacitive touch panel comprising a transparent substrate, a transparent cover lens and a transparent adhesive layer is provided, wherein a first transparent electrode layer and a second transparent electrode layer are disposed on the transparent cover lens and the transparent substrate respectively. The transparent adhesive layer is used to bind the first transparent electrode layer and second transparent electrode layer in order to combine the transparent cover lens and the transparent substrate disposed in parallel. Thereby, the manufacturing process of the transparent capacitive touch panel is simplified, and the manufacturing cost of the same is lowered.
