Abstract:
A thumb tab actuator for a firearm sling snap-hook is provided. The thumb tab actuator includes a body having a surface that engages a lever of a snap-hook that pivots in a first plane. The actuator body is adapted to be removably mounted to the lever, and the body includes a tab extending outwardly in a second plane transverse to the first plane when the body is mounted to the lever, such that the lever pivots in response to a force exerted on the tab. A user may couple the thumb tab to the snap-hook via a screw or other fastener. In some embodiments, the thumb tab includes a second tab for an ambidextrous configuration.
Abstract:
A sling mount or attachment for the rear portion of a firearm is provided. The sling mount includes a cap and a base, removably coupled by screws around a buffer tube of a firearm. The sling mount further includes a connection loop positioned below the opening created by coupling the cap to the base. In some embodiments, the connection loop extends in a vertical plane parallel to the longitudinal axis of the buffer tube, and is centrally located underneath it. A user may attach a sling to the connection loop via a snaphook in order to accomplish a one-point or two-point sling design.
Abstract:
A semiconductor structure having mesa structure comprising: a lower semiconductor layer; an upper semiconductor layer having a higher band gap than, and in direct contact with, the lower semiconductor layer to form a two-dimension electron gas (2DEG) region between the upper semiconductor layer. The 2DEG region has outer edges terminating at sidewalls of the mesa. An additional electron donor layer has a band gap higher than the band gap of the lower layer disposed on sidewall portions of the mesa structure and on the region of the 2DEG region terminating at sidewalls of the mesa. An ohmic contact material is disposed on the electron donor layer. In effect, a sideway HEMT is formed with the electron donor layer, the 2DEG region and the ohmic contact material increasing the concentration of electrons (i.e., lowering ohmic contact résistance) all along the contact between the lower semiconductor layer and the electron donor layer.
Abstract:
A dynamic fiber temperature sensing package is provided herein. The sensing package includes a support structure, a holder coupled to the support structure, a sheath coupled to the support structure via the holder, and a fiber optic temperature sensor positioned within the sheath. The holder includes a material having a first thermal conductivity and the sheath includes a material having a second thermal conductivity, wherein the second thermal conductivity is greater than the first thermal conductivity.
Abstract:
An inlet manifold for use with a heat exchange device such as a cold plate in which the manifold includes a main passage for transferring liquid. The main passage includes a seat sized to hold an orifice plate for restricting the transfer of liquid to a flow suitable to produce a pressure drop. An orifice plate retaining element contacts the orifice plate to maintain the orifice plate on the seat, and has a locking element to prevent unlocking during use.
Abstract:
A magazine well insert prevents contaminants from entering the magazine well of a pistol or a rifle. The magazine well insert provides a visual indication that the weapon does not have a magazine installed, thereby enhancing weapons safety. The magazine well insert of the present invention protects the weapon's magazine well from becoming contaminated with sand and other debris by sealing the magazine well with a block, for example, a plastic or metal block, that has an o-ring or other sealing device adapted to be positioned at the opening of the magazine well. The magazine well insert may be used in two different configurations, a first configuration that allow normal operation of the weapon's action or a second configuration that blocks the action of the weapon. The magazine well insert may be hollow with a removable sliding base to provide for storage in an interior portion thereof.
Abstract:
A water disk sports game that includes a pair of floating goals located at predetermined distances from each other in a designated boundary area. Each goal includes a vertical scoring pole that extends upward from a large floating base. In a first embodiment, the floating base is a hollow circular floating disk with an upper, diagonally aligned skirt surface that leads to a circular recessed cavity coaxially aligned with the scoring pole. Attached to the scoring pole is an elevated lid which creates a narrow gap between the lid and the top rim of the floating base. In another embodiment, the floating base is a partially submerged rim with radially aligned spokes and a center hub designed to receive the scoring pole. During use, a specially designed aquatic disk is given to one team whose objective is to throw the aquatic disk at the opposing team's scoring pole. If the aquatic disk contacts the scoring pole or is retained in the recessed cavity, a point is awarded to the offensive team or against the defensive team.

Abstract:
An interior rearview mirror system for a vehicle includes an interior rearview mirror assembly having a reflective element. An information display is at the interior rearview mirror assembly and displays information for viewing by a driver of the vehicle. The information display may be located behind the reflective element and viewable through the reflective element by the driver of the vehicle. The mirror system includes a handheld device having a position locator and being capable of establishing a geographical position of the handheld device. The information displayed by the information display is derived at least in part via a wireless communication link with the handheld device. The information display may include a display of turn-by-turn information for viewing by the driver of the vehicle. The information display may comprise a video screen.
