Abstract:
A memory device is disclosed including at least one surface pre-treated to roughen the surface for better adhesion of ink on the surface. The surface of the memory device may be pre-treated by scoring lines in the surface with a laser or by forming discrete deformations with a particle blaster. The surface may also be roughened by providing a roughened pattern on a mold plate during an encapsulation process. In further examples, the surface may be chemically pre-treated to roughen the surface and/or increase the adhesion energy of the surface.
Abstract:
Methods and system for providing a video overlay sports motion analysis. An embodiment method comprises receiving files containing video frames recording a professional athlete's performance of a motion and video frames of a student's performance of the motion. A stick figure representation of the professional athlete's motion is provided as a video sequence, and the video sequence is aligned to, and overlaid with, outlines of the student athlete. A playable video file providing a visual comparison between the student athlete's motion and the motion of the professional is created and delivered. Differences between the two motions are ascertained. A representation of the student performing the motion correctly is created and stored to enable playback; enabling the student to mentally visualize himself/herself performing the correct motion. The embodiments provide a turnkey system usable from anywhere worldwide by any student or coach at low cost.
Abstract:
An spectrometer including Raman and LIBS spectroscopy capabilities is disclosed. The spectrometer includes a laser source configurable to produce a lased light directable towards a target substance, the laser source having a single wavelength and having sufficient power to cause a portion of the target to emit Raman scattering and sufficient to ablate a portion of the target substance to produce a plasma plume. A separate remote light collector is optically configurable to collect light emitted from the portion of the target emitting Raman scattering and from the portion of the target producing the plasma plume. A filter is optically coupled to the remote light collector to remove reflected light and Rayleigh-scattered light, and a spectroscope is optically coupled to the filter and configured to separate the collected and filtered light into a frequency spectrum comprising a Raman spectrum and a laser-induced breakdown spectrum. Finally, an electronic light sensor is used to record the frequency spectrum.

Implementations of power management in a device are described. The device includes a power driver configured to manage power supply to one or more components in system-on-chip (SOC) hardware. The device further includes power subsystems configured as drivers for controlling the components of the SOC hardware and a user interface configured to receive a selected power mode as an input and identify profiles of one or more applications being executed in the device. Based on the selected power mode, the power driver directs the power subsystems to change a mode of operation of at least one component determined from the profiles of the one or more applications being executed.

Presented herein is a system, method, and apparatus for firmware code-coverage in complex system on chip. A circuit for analyzing code coverage of firmware by test inputs comprises an input and a memory. The input receives an address from a code address bus. The memory stores recorded addresses from the code address bus. The memory comprises a plurality of memory locations, each of the memory locations mapped to a particular one of a corresponding plurality of addresses associated with the firmware. The contents of the memory location associated with the address received from the code address bus being incremented responsive to receipt of the address.

The dyes are of formula (1): in which groups R3 and R4 are attached to the Z1 ring structure and groups R5 and R6 are attached to the Z2 ring structure, and n=1, 2 or 3; Z1 and Z2 independently represent the atoms necessary to complete one ring, or two fused ring aromatic or heteroaromatic systems, each ring having five or six atoms selected from carbon atoms and optionally no more than two atoms selected from oxygen, nitrogen and sulphur; X and Y are the same or different and are selected from oxygen, sulphur, —CH═CH— and the group: at least one of groups R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 (and R8 and R9 if present) is the group -E-F where E is a spacer group and F is a target bonding group; one of groups R7 is selected from —CN, —Cl, —F, —CF3 and —C(O)R10 wherein R10 is selected from H, C1–C6 alkyl and aryl.
