摘要： A compile converts a program having a multiple execution paths so as to expand a basic block on a specific execution path while maintaining the program integrity. The complier generates new basic blocks B103 and B104. The basic block B104 is composed of (i) statements generated by replacing replacement target variables in a partial source program (basic blocks B1-B7) on a hot path 200, and (ii) a branch instruction that includes a branch condition for executing the hot path, generated by modifying a branch instruction on the hot path 200. The basic block B103 is composed of statements for restoring restoration target variables out of the replacement target variables. The source program is then converted to execute, subsequently to the basic block B104, the basic block B103 if the branch instruction in the basic block B103 is true, and to execute the basic block B1 if false.

摘要： A support method for helping the user find a desired program from a collection of recorded television programs easily and quickly, and a recording/reproducing apparatus using this method. The recorded program viewing support system, when recording a television program, records electronic program information on the program, classifies the electronic program information according to predefined program category criteria, and successfully assigns predefined category numbers (recording channels) to the program to be recorded. Before the user views a recorded program, the user specifies the number of the recorded channel. A recorded channel number is allocated with a category item and hence the user can easily know the contents of the recorded programs. The user can change the channel number successively or directly specify it by using a remote controller to find a desired program easily and quickly. When disk media such as HDD and DVD-RAM are used as a storage in particular, the recorded programs can be randomly accessed allowing the user to zap through recorded programs.

摘要： A method of using a substrate transport pod is provided, which is suitable for manufacturing semiconductor devices with copper wiring and low dielectric insulating film having dielectric constants of less than 3. The method is based on loading the substrates into a pod from an atmosphere of a first process, and circulating a gaseous atmosphere through interior of the pod in such a way to selectively remove at least one contaminant including moisture, particulate substances or chemical substances, and to expose the substrates to a controlled atmosphere intermittently or continually while the substrates are held in the pod before they are unloaded from the pod and introduced into a second process. For a pod that is used to house the substrates for the purpose of retaining or transporting, the pod has a pod main body and a door that provides a hermetic sealing seal, and the pod is made primarily of a materiel that has moisture absorption factor of less than 0.1%, a the pod can contact the substrates directly or indirectly and has a conductive area so as to enable static charges to be guided out of the pod.
