    摘要: An inputted digital signal of a first format (DV video signal) is restored to a variable-length code by having its framing cancelled by a de-framing section 11, then decoded by a variable-length decoding (VLD) section 12, inversely quantized by an inverse quantizing (IQ) section 13, and inversely weighted by an inverse weighting (IW) section 14. Then, required resolution conversion in the orthogonal transform domain (frequency domain) is carried out on the inversely weighted video signal by a resolution converting section 16. After that, the video signal having the resolution converted is weighted by a weighting (W) section 18, then quantized by a quantizing (Q) section 19, coded by variable-length coding by a variable-length coding (VLC) section 20, and outputted as a digital signal of a second format (MPEG video signal).

    摘要: A picture information conversion method and apparatus in which, if the compressed picture information with a variable or non-recognized information volume is input, optimum compression processing on the compressed picture information is performed to prevent underflow and/or overflow to suppress deterioration of the picture quality. A compressed information analysis device 3 analyzes the structure of the picture type of the GOP of the compressed picture information input to the FF buffer 2. A bit allocation device 5 generates a pseudo GOP of the input compressed picture information, based on N frames stored in the FF buffer 2 and on the analysis result information stored in the information buffer 4, and allocates a pre-set code volume to respective pictures of the generated GOP so that the output compressed picture information will be at a second bitrate.

    摘要: An MPEG downdecoder is to be provided which eliminates dephasing of pixels of moving picture data without losing properties inherent in a picture obtained on interlaced scanning. In the case of a field DCT mode, 4×4 decimating IDCT is executed for phase correction for a ¼ pixel for pixels in the vertical direction of a top field and for phase correction for ¾ pixel for pixels in the vertical direction of a bottom field. In the case of a frame DCT mode, the totality of coefficients of a DCT block are IDCTed and separated into two pixel blocks associated with interlaced scanning. The low-frequency components of these two pixel blocks are IDCTed to synthesize the two pixel blocks. The pixels in the vertical direction of the top field are phase-corrected by a ¼ pixel, while those in the vertical direction of the bottom field are phase-corrected by a ¾ pixel.

    摘要: Recording and reproducing a television signal with a DC shifter prevents compression distortion of a PAL plus television signal. The PAL plus television signal includes a vertical resolution signal for enhancing vertical resolution which vertical resolution signal is included in the same compression blocks as some of the component video signals. Such compression blocks are shifted to a DC set up value so that the signals within those compression blocks do not have varying DC offsets which otherwise could result in compression distortion. Similarly, upon reproduction, the DC set up value is removed after decompression and the original television signal is restored with complete vertical resolution.
