摘要: A device, a method and a system for direct execution of code from a flash memory arrangement, in which a separate memory component is not required, even if a flash memory component is used which has a restriction on the size of a data block which can be read at one time. 摘要: A portable non-volatile memory device including a user interface for selectively assigning one of a plurality of security statuses to a user file stored therein is provided. In some embodiments, the memory device includes a power source so that the user interface is operative even when the memory device is in an uncoupled state. Optionally, the device provides a mechanism for authenticating users. In exemplary embodiments, the assigned security status of a user file is selected from the group consisting of non-secure, encrypted, visible while protected against copying and hidden.

摘要: A device, a method and a system for providing control of access to data which is stored in an electronic data storage device. The device, method and system enable various types of permissions to be set for determining access to the stored data, such that if an attempt is made to access particular data which does not have a suitable permission type, access is denied. Preferably, the present invention is implemented as an access control device, such as a chip for example, which more preferably controls all access to the data storage device. This implementation is preferred, since such electronic devices are more difficult to “hack” for access by an unauthorized user. The device, system and method have a number of different utilizations, such as for controlling access to credit card information; for identifying a user according to a PIN or other identification information; for controlling access to a particular location according to the identity of the user; and for controlling access to various types of data files, such as music files in the MP3 format and so forth.

摘要: An electronically programmable read-only memory module has an embedded micro-controller for program/data updating.Upon power up, the module acts as a prior art ROM. The embedded micro-controller in a standby mode is responsive to data arriving from a download communication interface that is accessible by an external port on the module. The external port and download communication interface is independent of the system of which the module is an operating component. When a command is received from the download communication interface, the micro-controller switches the memory device to respond to micro-controller inputs that starts an update session. The micro-controller receives download data from the download communication interface and writes it into the memory device. When the download process terminates, the micro-controller switches the memory device back to its system interface.

摘要: This patent application discloses methods and systems for alerting computerized motor-vehicles about predicted accidents. In an example method, a motor vehicle alerts another motor vehicle about a predicted accident, even though that accident is between the alerting car and a third motor vehicle—for example, the alert is transmitted by non-visual electromagnetic (EM) radiation. When an adjacent motor vehicle receives such accident alert and determines it might itself be hit, it will react so as to minimize its chances of being hit or at least to minimize the damage if it is being hit. Optionally, one or more of the motor vehicles has an onboard device for measuring a blood-alcohol level of a human driver thereof. The measured blood-alcohol level may be used to compute a probability of an occurrence of an accident and/or may be included in one or more of the transmitted accident alerts.

摘要: This patent application discloses methods and systems for alerting computerized motor-vehicles about predicted accidents. In an example method, a motor vehicle alerts another motor vehicle about a predicted accident, even though that accident is between the alerting car and a third motor vehicle—for example, the alert is transmitted by non-visual electromagnetic (EM) radiation. 摘要: A storage unit made of flash array and a USB controller, is implemented to be compatible with then USB specification. The unit includes memory modules which can accept write commands and read commands and are erasable and non-volatile herein referred to as flash modules. The USB/flash controller is configured to provide USB functionality and compatibility alone with common flash operations such as programming reading and erasing the above mentioned components. A USB flash memory device includes at least one flash memory module, a USB connector, a USB controller, and an identification structure for holding memory size and manufacturing type information of the flash memory module. The USB controller is configured to send and receive USB-defined data packets to or from a host via the USB connector, to extract operation codes and logical addresses from the USB-defined data packets, and to carry out at least one of reads, writes and erases in the flash memory module in accordance with the USB-defined data packets, and to interpret the operation codes into corresponding commands. The USB controller is configured to activate a respective memory technology driver in accordance with the memory size and manufacturing type information in the identification structure. The activated memory technology driver is configured to perform the commands on the flash memory module corresponding to the logical addresses.
