    Abstract: A pupil replicator for a head up display system includes a waveguide adapted to receive an incoming image beam, and including a transparent body having a partially transmissive top surface and a reflective bottom surface, a Dammann grating adapted to create a plurality of duplicate image beams having equal intensity, and reflect each of the plurality of duplicate image beams within the waveguide, and a beam aligning device adapted to receive each of the plurality of duplicate image beams and to reflect each of the plurality of duplicate image beams at a common angle relative to the waveguide, wherein, after being reflected by the beam aligning device, each of the plurality of duplicate image beams are parallel to one another.

    Abstract: A system for calibrating a display for a vehicle includes a reference calibration system including a reference windscreen and a reference transparent windscreen display (TWD) projector including a reference TWD camera. The reference calibration system also includes a reference camera and a reference controller in electrical communication with the reference TWD projector and the reference camera. The reference controller is programmed to project a reference graphic on the reference windscreen using the reference TWD projector. The reference controller is further programmed to capture a first reference image of the reference graphic using the reference camera. The reference controller is further programmed to calculate at least one reference calibration matrix based at least in part on the first reference image of the reference graphic.

    Abstract: A holographic display system provides a maximum intensity value of an intermediate image to decrease a graphics speckle noise. The system includes an SLM having a display with a hologram generating unit and a plurality of pixels for modulating a beam of coherent light. The system further includes a beam splitter for splitting the beam into an object beam and an intermediate image beam that is associated with an intermediate image having the noise. The system further includes a camera for capturing the intermediate image, in response to the camera receiving the intermediate image beam. The system further includes a computer having a processor and a CRM. The processor is programmed to generate an actuation signal associated with a corrective holographic phase shift to decrease the noise. The SLM modifies in real-time a holographic phase of the beam per pixel, in response to the SLM receiving the actuation signal.
