摘要: When sharpness processing is carried out on image data coded after being decomposed into multiple resolution spaces and attached with sharpness processing information regarding a highest resolution image, appropriate sharpness processing can also be carried out on image data at an intermediate resolution. A coded image file storing data having been coded after being decomposed into multiple resolution spaces is stored in an image server together with information regarding sharpness processing to be carried out on the highest resolution image. Coded image data at an intermediate resolution are read from the coded image file, and decompressed by decompression means to obtain restored image data. Parameter setting means sets a parameter for sharpness processing to be carried out on the restored image data, based on the information and the resolution of the coded image data. Sharpness processing is carried out by sharpness processing means on the restored image data based on the parameter, and the processed image data are reproduced by reproduction means.

摘要: An original image signal, which represents an original image and are composed of original image signal components representing a plurality of sampling points, that are arrayed at predetermined intervals and in a lattice-like form, is obtained. A judgment is made as to whether an interpolation point belongs to an image edge portion, at which the change in the original image signal is sharp, or belongs to a flat portion, at which the change in the original image signal is unsharp. Interpolating operation processes, one of which is to be employed for the interpolation point, is changed over to each other in accordance with the results of the judgment. Interpolated image signal components corresponding to interpolation points are thereby obtained from the interpolating operation processes such that a visible image, in which a character pattern and an image edge portion are free from any step-like pattern and are sharp and a flat portion has an appropriate level of sharpness, can be reproduced from the interpolated image signal components.

摘要: This invention relates to a magnetic head device and a disk drive, which are suitable for application to a mass-storage floppy disk drive. A first and second rails are provided on the disk side in projected form on a slider of each of magnetic head elements 20 so as to extend in a tangential direction R of a track of the disk and be parallel with each other. A head chip for recording and reproducing data in a state of being in contact with a recording surface of the disk and in a standard recording density is provided substantially in the central position of the first rail. Another head chip for recording and reproducing data in a state of being levitated from the recording surface of the disk and in a high recording density is provided in a position on the rear side of the second rail 26b with respect to the tangential direction R of the track. A width of the first rail of each magnetic head element is narrower than a width of the second rail thereof. The slider is inclined and levitated so that the second rail approaches the recording surface of the disk.

摘要: When an image signal representing a radiation image is compressed and decompressed, and a visible radiation image is reproduced from the decompressed image signal, a compressing process to be employed is changed in accordance with conditions, under which the image signal before being subjected to compression processing has been generated. A moire is thereby prevented from occurring on a reproduced radiation image, the compression processing speed and the compressibility are kept high, and the image quality (the sharpness) of the reproduced radiation image is prevented from becoming worse.

摘要: A MIM nonlinear device is provided having a large nonlinearity coefficient that represents the sharpness of the voltage-current characteristic. A liquid-crystal display panel may be manufactured using the device to exhibit high image-quality. A method for manufacturing such a MIM nonlinear device is also provided. A MIM nonlinear device may include a first conductive film, an insulating film and a second conductive film laminated on a substrate. The insulating film may contain water at a content gradient descending in the direction of the film thickness from the surface facing the second conductive film. The hydrogen spectrum that is derived from the water and obtained by a secondary ion-mass spectrography (SIMS) elemental analysis with the radiation of cesium primary ions exhibits a peak near a surface of the insulating film facing the second conductive film. Additionally, the thermal desorption spectroscopy of the insulating film has a peak derived from water in the insulating film within a range of 220.degree. C..+-.5.degree. C.

摘要: Frequency signals of a plurality of different frequency bands are obtained by transforming each of image signals into a multi-resolution space. Each image signal represents one of radiation images of a single object, which have been formed respectively with a plurality of kinds of radiation having different energy distributions and in which different images of at least part of the object are embedded. Signal components of the frequency signals, which are of an identical frequency band and correspond to different image signals, are weighted with weight factors, which are set in accordance with the frequency band, the signal components representing corresponding picture elements in frequency images represented by the frequency signals. The weighted signal components of the frequency signals are subtracted from one another. Difference signals are thus obtained for the plurality of the different frequency bands. An inverse transform is carried out on the difference signals, and an energy subtraction signal is thereby obtained.

摘要: Radiation images of an object, which have been recorded on recording media and in which different images of at least part of the object are embedded, are read out from the recording media, and a plurality of original image signals, each of which is made up of a series of image signal components, are thereby obtained. The image signal components of the original image signals, which represent corresponding picture elements in the radiation images, are then subtracted from each other, and a difference signal representing an image of a specific structure of the object is thereby obtained. A smoothing process is carried out on an original image signal, and a smoothed image signal is thereby obtained. The image signal components of the original image signal and the difference signal, which represent corresponding picture elements in the images, are weighted such that the weight given to the original image signal may be made larger as the image density represented by the smoothed image signal with respect to a picture element becomes lower. The weighted image signal components are then averaged. A composite image signal obtained from the weighted averaging process is utilized for reproduction of a visible radiation image of the object.

摘要: A plurality of radiation images of an object is recorded on a plurality of recording sheets by exposing the recording sheets to radiations which have different energy distributions and have passed through the object. The plurality of radiation images are read out and a plurality of image signals which respectively represent the plurality of radiation images are obtained. A correction formula according to which correction of one or more of the image signals for superposing the radiation images represented by the respective image signals one on another is effected for each picture element is obtained and subtraction processing is effected for each picture element while the aforesaid correction is effected for each picture element according to the correction formula. In other words, the steps of correction, superposition and subtraction are performed consecutively and on a picture element by picture element basis.

The image processing apparatus includes an image processing condition storage section and an image processing section. Names of various diseases and image processing conditions for the respective diseases are stored in the image processing condition storage section. The diagnostic image data is input into the image processing section. The name of a disease which is to be diagnosed is input into the image processing condition storage section, and the image processing condition corresponding to the disease is input into the image processing section from the image processing condition storage section. The image processing section carries out image processing on the image data according to the image processing condition input thereinto and generates a processed image data.
