    摘要: An optical reading apparatus and a multifunction-type image forming apparatus, with a minimized thickness in a cabinet height direction and a housing shaped along an upper shape of discharge tray of the image forming apparatus provided thereunder. The optical reading apparatus comprises: platen glass defined with one end and the other end, on an upper surface of which an original document is placed; an optical reading unit that translates between the both ends on a lower surface of the platen glass, for obtaining image data by irradiating an original document surface with light through the platen glass; a control circuit board connected to the optical reading unit, for processing an electric signal; and a housing wherein a side on the side of the other end is thicker than a side on the side of the one end. The image forming apparatus has a cabinet containing: sheet discharge unit for discharging an image formation sheet from a lower-part lower-side on the thicker side of the housing of the optical reading apparatus toward a lower-part upper side on the thinner side of the housing; and a discharge tray on which the image formation sheet discharged from the sheet discharge unit is received and stacked.

    摘要: There is provided an alkaline soluble positive-type photosensitive composition having an infrared wavelength range laser sensitive characteristic. There is also provided a positive-type photosensitive composition not requiring any burning operation, capable of attaining a requisite and sufficient close fitness in coating operation under a condition of indoor working room humidity of 25 to 60%, capable of attaining a development not producing any residuals while keeping a high sensitivity, cutting it with a sharp contour, attaining a quite hard resist film and improving an anti-scar characteristic in a handling before developing operation.     摘要: A laser printer (10) uses an elongated toner cartridge (24) adapted for insertion into a toner cartridge slot (25) defined within a body housing (12) of the printer (10). The slot (25) is elongated in shape and extends horizontally. The toner cartridge (24) extends along the slot (25) when received in it. The slot (25) has a mouth at one longitudinal end through which the toner cartridge (24) is inserted in and removed from the slot (25). A slot door (26) is provided for the mouth of the slot. The slot door (26) is supported to be movable between a first position for substantially closing the mouth and a second position for leaving the mouth open. The slot door (26) has inner and outer sides, the inner side facing toward inside of the slot (25) when the slot door (26) is located at the first position while facing upward when the slot door (26) is located at the second position. The slot door (26) has guide surfaces formed on its inner side for guiding the toner cartridge to establish alignment of the toner cartridge (24) relative to the slot (25) preparatory to inserting the former into the latter. The slot door (26) includes a toner collector vessel (62) for collecting any toner falling down from a used toner cartridge during its removal from the slot (25). The slot door (26) facilitates toner cartridge replacement, prevents ambient light from entering the slot (25) and avoids contamination of environment of the printer (10) with toner.

    摘要: A toner reservoir for a laser printer includes an elongated toner hopper housing extending in a horizontal direction and an elongated toner cartridge adapted for detachable attachment on the toner hopper housing with its bottom on the top of the latter. The toner hopper housing has an elongated top opening extending longitudinally of the toner hopper housing. The toner cartridge has an elongated bottom opening extending longitudinally of the toner cartridge. The top and bottom openings are adapted to mate with each other when the toner cartridge is attached on the toner hopper housing so as to allow discharge of toner through them from the toner cartridge into the toner hopper housing. The bottom opening is closed by a strip of sealing tape, which is removed away after the toner cartridge is attached on the toner hopper housing. A toner sensor is provided in the toner hopper housing. The toner hopper housing has upright partition walls dividing the space in the toner hopper housing into local regions arranged along the length thereof, such that any toner falling down from the toner cartridge into the toner hopper housing upon removal of the sealing tape is substantially prevented by the partition walls from moving from one of the local regions into another. In this manner, the toner level in the toner reservoir is effectively equalized along its length upon toner replenishment, allowing appropriate toner level detection by a single toner sensor.
