摘要: A safety hammer is provided that may be designed to prevent injuries caused by flying nails when users accidentally fail to strike nails on their heads. The present invention may provide for a wooden handle with finger grooves. The wooden handle may be reinforced with a steel rod to add strength and attach the handle to the tempered steel head. Close to the end used for striking nails, the present invention may provide for a pin configured to attach the metal shield to the end used for striking nails. The track in the shield may fit over the pin to ensure the pin is positioned correctly around the face of the present invention's hammer face. In some embodiments, the shield may be secured by magnets, which may be embedded around the present invention's hammer head. The present invention may also provide for a fulcrum point that may be oriented above the nail removal portion of the present invention.

摘要: A method for preparing hydro/organo gelators from disaccharide sugars by biocatalysis and their use in enzyme-triggered drug delivery. Controlled delivery of an anti-inflammatory, chemopreventive drug is achieved by an enzyme-triggered drug release mechanism via degradation of encapsulated hydrogels. The hydro- and organo-gelators are synthesized in high yields from renewable resources by using a regioselective enzyme catalysis and a known chemopreventive and anti-inflammatory drug, curcumin, is encapsulated in the gel matrix and released by enzyme triggered delivery. The release of the drug occurs at the physiological temperature and control of the drug release rate is achieved by manipulating the enzyme concentration and temperature. The by-products formed after the gel degradation clearly demonstrated the site specificity of degradation of the gelator by enzyme catalysis. The present invention has applications in developing cost effective, controlled drug delivery vehicles from renewable resources, with a potential impact on pharmaceutical research and molecular design and delivery strategies.

摘要: In an embodiment, new traffic pattern data is received pertaining to a first time period having a first time increment. The traffic pattern data may be received as, or converted to, count information reflecting the probabilities that the user will select particular links services. An incremental table is accessed to determine stale traffic pattern count data, which is the traffic pattern count data in the incremental table over a second time period having the first time increment, wherein the second time period covers the oldest traffic pattern count data in the incremental table. Then a count table is updated to reflect removal of the stale traffic pattern count data, wherein the count table contains global count data at a higher level of granularity than the incremental table. The incremental table and count table are updated to reflect addition of the new traffic pattern data.

摘要: In order to provide a modular arrangement, an inverter for an electric traction motor used to drive an automotive vehicle is positioned in proximity with the traction motor. The inverter is located within a compartment adjacent to one end of the electric traction motor and is cooled in a closed system by spraying a liquid coolant directly onto the inverter. The liquid coolant absorbs heat from the inverter and is cooled by a heat exchange arrangement comprising a reservoir with pipes carrying a second coolant from the radiator of the automotive vehicle. In a preferred embodiment, the coolant is collected from the inverter in an annular reservoir that is integral with the compartment containing the inverter. In accordance with one embodiment of the cooling arrangement, heat from the inverter vaporizes the liquid coolant by absorbing heat from the inverter during a phase change from a liquid to a vapor. The vaporized coolant is condensed by a circulating second coolant in pipes connected to the vehicle's radiator through a condenser that is preferably coaxial with the motor and the annular reservoir, which annular reservoir in the second embodiment collects overspray liquid coolant. In order to avoid degrading the inverter, the coolant is a dielectric fluid.

摘要: Disclosed is an animal waste collecting device. The device includes a harness that includes an adjustable waist strap that is attached to a back strap and a pair of leg straps. The leg straps are connected by means of a connecting rod of a receptacle holder, wherein the receptacle holder is positioned adjacent to an animal's buttocks. The connecting rod includes a rotatable rod attached thereto, wherein the rotatable rod includes a pair of bag attachment rods for holding a disposable bag thereon. The connecting rod is connected to the pull straps so that when the pull straps are actuated, the connecting rod moves the rotatable rod and the bag attachment rods. In this way, the disposable bag can be automatically positioned to collect animal waste as the animal defecates, thereby eliminating the need for an animal owner to pick up animal waste by hand.

摘要: Sharpening multi-spectral digital images without increasing noise is accomplished by filtering vector values rather than independent scalar values. A low-pass filter is performed on image A to obtain a blurred image B1 with noise and signal suppressed. The resulting blurred image B1 is subtracted from the original image A to produce a high frequency band C1 that contains noise and signal. Vector difference mean filtering is performed on the original image A to produce a filtered image B2 with noise suppressed. The filtered image B2 is subtracted from the original image A to produce a noise band C2 that contains noise with very little signal. The noise band C2 is subtracted from the high frequency band C1 to produce a signal band D that contains the signal. The signal band D is then added to the filtered image B2 to further enhance detail in the noise filtered band.
