摘要: A method for communicating between nodes of a plurality of nodes is disclosed. Each node includes a plurality of processors and an interconnect chipset. The method issues a request for data from a processor in a first node and passes the request for data to other nodes through an expansion port (or scalability port). The method also starts an access of a memory in response to the request for data and snoops a processor cache of each processor in each node. The method accordingly identifies the location of the data in either the processor cache or memory in the node having the processor issuing the request or in a processor cache or memory of another node. A method for requesting data between two directly coupled nodes in a router system is also disclosed. A method for requesting data between three or more nodes in an interconnect system is also disclosed. A method for resolving crossing cases in an interconnect system is also disclosed. An interconnect system for coupling nodes directly or through a protocol engine is also disclosed.

摘要: Systems and methods for automated monitoring and management of distributed applications, client/server databases, networks and systems across heterogeneous environments. Distributed, automated intelligent monitoring agents use embedded sensing technology which is knowledgeable of application protocols, to monitor continuously the network environment in real time. To this end, the monitoring agent can be located on each client and server in the network. The monitoring agent can couple to the communications stack for monitoring the data that is being passed between the client and the network, of a server in the network. The data can be collected and employed for trouble shooting trend analysis, resource planning, security auditing, and accounting as well as other applications. Also included is a controller for remotely coordinating the data gathering process from the various clients and servers.

摘要: A method and apparatus for phase locking to an input signal and outputting a sigma-delta modulated control signal. The method and apparatus of the present invention provide a sigma-delta modulated control signal which can be utilized by any one of a decimator for decimating a digital data at a first data rate to a digital data at a second data rate and an interpolator for interpolating a digital data at a first data rate to a digital data at a second data rate. The decimator and the interpolator can be utilized in any one of an analog-to-digital converter, a digital-to-analog converter and a digital-to-digital converter. In one embodiment, a period of the input signal is determined and fed to a phase-locked loop which includes a sigma-delta modulator for providing the sigma-delta modulated control signal. The phase-locked loop also includes a phase detector for determining a phase and a frequency-difference between the input signal and a conversion signal generated by the phase-locked loop. The method and apparatus thus locks to the phase and the frequency of the input signal and provide a phase-locked sigma-delta-modulated control signal.

摘要: A method and apparatus for analog to digital conversion using sigma-delta modulation of the temporal spacing between digital samples. The method and apparatus of the present invention provides for sigma-delta modulation of the time base such that errors produced by non-uniform sampling are frequency-shaped to a region (i.e., shifted to higher frequencies) where they can be removed by conventional filtering techniques. In one embodiment, digital data is interpolated under control of a sigma-delta modulated frequency selection signal that represents, on average, the data rate of the digital data to be output by the converter and then decimated by a fixed ratio. The frequency selection signal is modulated using an n-th order m-bit sigma-delta modulator. Data thus emerges from the interpolation/decimation process at the sample rate selected by the n-th order m-bit sigma-delta modulator. The method and apparatus converts the data rate of an incoming digital data stream from an ADC to the data rate determined by the n-th order m-bit sigma-delta modulator.

摘要: In an electrostatographic reproduction apparatus there is provided an operator control panel having a display screen indicating certain standard selectable features for a copying operation including copy format (simplex to duplex, etc.), paper supply source, copy quality, magnification and exit location with plural displayed options for each feature. Keys and buttons are provided for altering the display to indicate a displayed selected option for each. For more complex operations the display may be changed to display various operator selectable special job level features for a copying operation available on a job level basis. The displaying is further alterable to display various operator selectable special page level features for a copying operation specific to reproducing a selected page of a multisheet document job. Thus a layered approach is provided in the series of displays from a standard features presentation which a casual user would be comfortable using, to a job level features presentation for a more complex reproduction at the job level, to a page level features presentation for designation of specific page level features for selection. User friendliness is enhanced with consistent use of indicia identifying a feature under consideration, selection of such feature and whether or not additional screens must be called up to further define that feature and further identifying other features which may not be chosen when a certain feature is chosen.
