    摘要: An optical transmission system including a plurality of optical repeaters arranged along a transmission line. A respective gain equalizer is arranged along the transmission line after an integer number of optical repeaters. Further, each optical repeater can include an optical amplifier, a gain equalizer and a connection mechanism. The connection mechanism has a first state and a second state so that (a) when the connection mechanism is in the first state, the gain equalizer of the optical repeater performs an equalization process on the light signal, and (b) when the connection mechanism is in the second state, the gain equalizer of the optical repeater does not perform an equalization process on the light signal. An add/drop apparatus is also provided for adding/dropping an individual wavelength signal from a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) signal travelling through the optical communication system. The add/drop apparatus includes a plurality of filters, and a selection mechanism. Each filter affects a different wavelength. The plurality of filters includes at least one filter affecting a wavelength corresponding to a wavelength signal in the WDM signal. The selection mechanism selects a respective filter of the at least one filter to allow the apparatus to add/drop the wavelength signal in the WDM signal corresponding to the wavelength of the selected filter.

For this purpose, the ceiling built-in type air conditioner has a heat exchanger 4 installed within a main body cabinet 1 having an air suction inlet 2 and an air blowing outlet 3 and has a centrifugal blower 7 installed in the air suction inlet 2. In this ceiling built-in type air conditioner, a flat-plate-shaped rectifying member 9 is placed near the middle point between the center of the air suction inlet 2 and the center of the heat exchanger 4 and is placed substantially at a right angle to the direction of the flow of air from the air suction inlet 2.

    摘要: A non-contact web conveying apparatus in which static pressure support type air blowing boxes are arranged on both sides of a web in such a manner that the air blowing boxes are provided in staggered positions in the direction of movement of the web. The web is conveyed while being suspended so that the web waves continuously in the direction of movement. A protrusion is provided in the middle of the air blowing box between air jetting outlets which are formed at both opposite edges of the air blowing box. In this way, the web is stably conveyed without creasing or fluttering.

    摘要: A dual reel string winding and unwinding apparatus for us with stunt kites including a first spool and a second spool, each having two pairs of aligned holes extending through flanges therein. A first and second pair of posts extend through the aligned holes in the first and second spools to cause such spools to rotate together. A connector, having an axle thereon, is connected to the first and second posts and a handle is rotatably mounted on the axle of the connector. One of the posts extends far enough through both spools that it can be utilized as a handle so that by grasping the handle on the axle and the handle on one of the posts, the two reels can be rotated simultaneously together in either direction. A guide is connected to the handle on the axle and is disposed radially outwardly from the spools so as to guide the string either onto or off from the proper spools.

    摘要: A tilt steering mechanism, a telescopic steering mechanism and a seat attitude adjusting mechanism are controlled in their attitudes by an electric motor such that the respective attitudes are automatically set into a retreat attitude where the driver easily gets on and off a vehicle upon boarding/alighting, and into a driving attitude assumed before retreat upon the completion of boarding. Whether or not the driver is about to get on and off the vehicle is judged in accordance with the status of an ignition switch, status of a door switch, vehicle speed, status of a parking brake, shift lever position of a transmission, etc. A change speed of attitude is monitored during energization of the electric motor and, if the change speed is less than a predetermined value, this is judged as the presence of overload and the electric motor is stopped.
