A broadcast transmission device and a method by which the broadcast transmission device processes data are disclosed. The method by which the broadcast transmission device processes data, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: encapsulating emergency alert information as a link layer packet; error-correction-encoding data of the link layer packet in a physical layer; building a signal frame including the error-correction-encoded data; and transmitting a broadcast signal including the built signal frame, wherein the link layer packet includes a header and a payload, the header includes header information for signaling the payload, the payload includes the emergency alert information, and the header information includes indication information indicating that the link layer packet is a packet for an emergency alert and type information indicating the type of emergency alert information.

A method of processing an interactive service and an apparatus thereof are disclosed. The present invention includes generating an application parameter table which includes information about at least one of applications, wherein the application parameter table includes a first identifier and a second identifier, wherein the first identifier identifies a interactive programming segment which application parameter table pertains to, and wherein the second identifier identifies an application within the scope of application parameter table; generating an activation message file that indicates at least one of activation times of the applications, wherein the activation message file includes a third identifier and activation messages, wherein the third identifier matches the first identifier of application parameter table which contains the applications, wherein the activation message includes a fourth identifier and a start time information, wherein the fourth identifier matches the second identifier of the application in the application parameter table, and wherein the start time information indicates the start time for an event targeted to the application relative to segment time; generating a multi-part message with the application parameter table as the first part and the activation message file as the second part; and transmitting the multi-part message to receiver via HTTP.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for supporting hybrid broadcasting in a digital broadcasting system. The present invention provides an apparatus for receiving a broadcast content via one or more networks. The apparatus comprises a broadcast network interface for receiving a broadcast stream including a first portion of the broadcast content via a broadcast network; a heterogeneous network interface for receiving a heterogeneous stream including a second portion of the broadcast content via a heterogeneous network; and wherein the broadcast stream further includes timeline reference signaling information containing metadata for synchronizing streams transmitted via the one or more networks, and wherein the timeline reference signaling information includes at least one timeline reference information reconstituting timeline of at least one of the broadcast stream and the heterogeneous stream, a processor for configuring the broadcast content using the broadcast stream and the heterogeneous stream based on the timeline reference signaling information. The present invention is effective in easily synchronizing transport streams transmitted through each of heterogeneous networks.

The broadcast signal transmitting apparatus includes a signaling encoder for generating signaling information indicating whether a broadcast signal including multimedia content is transmitted in real time using a broadcast network, an internal structure generator for generating at least one object internal structure obtained by dividing a file included in the multimedia content into an independently encoded or decoded data unit, a packet information generator for generating packet information including metadata for identification of the object internal structure when the signaling information indicates that the multimedia content is transmitted in real time, and a transmitter for transmitting a broadcast signal including the object internal structure and the packet information. Accordingly, the apparatus can reduce a total time needed when multimedia content is acquired and then displayed for a user.
