摘要: A data output apparatus includes: a video decoder that decodes a video stream to generate a first video signal; an external metadata acquisition unit that acquires one or more pieces of metadata corresponding to one or more first conversion modes; an HDR metadata interpreter that interprets one of the one or more pieces of metadata to acquire characteristic data and conversion auxiliary data; a DR converter that supports one or more second conversion modes and performs conversion processing of a luminance range of the first video signal based on the conversion auxiliary data to generate a second video signal; and an HDMI output unit that outputs the second video signal to a display apparatus.

摘要: A playback method according to one aspect of the present disclosure is performed by a playback device connected to a display device. The playback method includes obtaining a type of the display device; selecting each of a version of High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) and a version of High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), according to the obtained type of the display device; obtaining a video signal of content recorded on a recording medium; decoding the obtained video signal; encrypting the decoded video signal using the selected version of HDCP; and outputting the encrypted video signal to the display device using the selected version of HDMI.

摘要: A display system includes a conversion apparatus converting video luminance including a luminance value in a first luminance range and a display apparatus connected thereto and displaying the video. The conversion apparatus includes a first acquisition unit, a first luminance converter, a second luminance converter, a quantization converter, and an output unit outputting a third luminance signal to the display apparatus. The display apparatus includes: a second acquisition unit acquiring the third luminance signal and setting information indicating display settings recommended to the display apparatus in display of the video; a display setting unit setting the display apparatus, using the setting information; a third luminance converter converting a third code value indicated by the third luminance signal into a second luminance value compatible with a second luminance range, using the setting information; and a display controller displaying the video on the display apparatus based on the second luminance value.

摘要: A conversion method for converting luminance of a video, including a luminance value in a first luminance range, to be displayed on a display apparatus includes: acquiring a first luminance signal indicating a code value obtained by quantization of the luminance value of the video; and converting the code value indicated by the acquired first luminance signal into a second luminance value determined based on a luminance range of the display apparatus, the second luminance value being compatible with a second luminance range with a maximum value smaller than a maximum value of the first luminance range and larger than 100 nit. This provides the conversion method capable of achieving further improvement.

摘要: In a converting method for converting luminance of an input video in order to display the video on a display device, the luminance of the video is a first luminance value in a first luminance range where a maximum luminance value is defined as a first maximum luminance value that exceeds 100 nit. The method includes acquiring a first luminance signal indicating a first luminance value of the video, selecting a luminance converting process to be executed from among a plurality of luminance converting processes based on a reference luminance value corresponding to reference reflectance included in first meta data of the acquired first luminance signal, converting the first luminance value indicated by the acquired first luminance signal into a second luminance value in a second luminance range where a maximum luminance value is defined as a second maximum luminance value that is smaller than the first maximum luminance value and larger than 100 nit based on the selected luminance converting process.

In the method, a server stores registration information listing identification information for each household appliance owned by a user, combination information listing combinations each including household appliances performing cooperative processing, and update information for each household appliance in each combination, for updating a function for performing the cooperative processing. The method includes: receiving, from a household appliance having identification information not listed in the registration information, a request to list the identification information in the registration information, and listing the identification information in the registration information; selecting a combination listed in the combination information, the combination including the household appliance and all other household appliances in the combination being registered in the registration information; and transmitting update information to each household appliance requiring a function update in the combination.
