摘要: A method and device for reducing the nitrogen oxide proportion in exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, carry out selective catalytic reduction on a reduction catalytic converter, at least discontinuously supplied with reducing agent. A reduction catalytic converter storage capacity for reducing agent and dependence of the storage capacity on temperature of the catalytic converter are considered when determining the reducing agent amount to be supplied. The reducing agent amount to be supplied can be adjusted to future temperature of the reduction catalytic converter and storage capacity at that temperature, for example preventing the reducing agent from desorbing from the catalytic converter when the temperature of the catalytic converter increases, e.g. by regenerating a particle filter. A reduced reducing agent amount is therefore supplied prior to regeneration of the particle filter instead of an amount required for stoichiometrically reacting nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas without considering storage capacity.

摘要: A honeycomb body, especially a particulate filter, particularly for motor vehicle exhaust purification, includes inner walls defining passages with an entry and exit. Cavities free of walls in at least one subregion contain at least one spherical free space having a largest cross-sectional area at least 10 times a cross-sectional area of the passages in the subregion. The honeycomb body is wound, twisted or layered from at least one metal sheet having layers with a structuring forming the passages, at least in the subregion. The sheet-metal layers have holes with an area greater than 10 times the cross-sectional area of the passages in the subregion. The holes form cavities in at least 5 successive layers overlapping with an area at least 10 times the cross-sectional area of the passages in the subregion. The holes are double or more than triple the hydraulic diameter of the passages opening into the cavity.

摘要: A process for producing a honeycomb body includes a) producing a tubular casing from sheet metal; b) introducing a hole, delimited by a rim, into the sheet metal; c) fitting a flange piece for a measurement sensor to the hole rim; d) introducing a honeycomb structure into the tubular casing; and e) joining the tubular casing to the honeycomb structure and the flange piece by brazing or welding in a single, common, heat treatment process. Steps a), b) and c) are carried out in any desired order. A honeycomb body includes a honeycomb structure. A tubular casing surrounds the honeycomb structure, has a hole delimited by a rim, and has a necked region surrounding the hole. A flange piece for a measurement sensor is brazed to the hole rim. The process allows a flange piece to be connected to the tubular casing in an advantageous manner as part of an on-going heat treatment process, resulting in a simple and fast production and consequently a reduction of costs.

摘要: An exhaust gas system for purifying exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine, particularly a diesel engine in a motor vehicle, conducts the exhaust gas in a specific flow direction. A catalytic converter, particularly for converting hydrocarbons and carbon monoxides contained in the exhaust gas, an oxidation catalytic converter, particularly for converting nitrogen monoxide contained in the exhaust gas and a particulate trap for collecting particulates contained in the exhaust gas, are disposed successively in the flow direction. The exhaust gas system ensures a highly efficient conversion of harmful substances contained in the exhaust gas, and a particularly positive effect with respect to the regeneration of the particulate trap also occurs.

摘要: A honeycomb body that including wound sheet-metal layers including structured sheet-metal layers with structuring. The wound sheet-metal layers form an upper side, a lower side disposed remote from the upper side, a first edge region and a second edge region laterally extending from the upper side to the lower side. The second edge region is disposed remote from the first edge region. The wound sheet-metal layers are fixed in a common fixing zone at the first edge region. The structuring of the structured sheet-metal layers is at least partially flattened at the fixing zone so that adjacent wound sheet-metal layers lie close against each other at the common fixing zone. The wound sheet-metal layers preferably form a region with a flattened cross-sectional area. A muffler of an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine that includes the honeycomb body is also provided. In addition, a two-region housing that includes the honeycomb body is provided. Finally, a process for producing the honeycomb body is provided.

摘要: An electrically insulating lead-through assembly through which an electrical conductor passes through a metal casing. The metal casing belongs to an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine, in particular to an electrically heatable catalytic converter. A metallic sleeve which is welded to the casing defines the lead-through opening through which the conductor extends. The lead-through assembly is protected against electrocorrosion by a sacrificial electrode which is disposed on the sleeve, on the casing in the vicinity of the sleeve, or on a housing covering the lead-through. Alternatively, a ground connector may be connected in the vicinity of the lead-through.

摘要: An apparatus for producing a metal sheet with a corrugation configuration that is of a first corrugation height, wherein the sheet has transversely or at an angle relative to the corrugation configuration a microstructure having a second, substantially smaller corrugation height. The apparatus includes a device for producing the microstructure, and a pair of mutually meshing corrugation rollers that are disposed downstream of the device for producing the microstructure. Wherein the corrugation rollers have at their outer surfaces recesses which are suitably disposed and sufficiently large to receive the microstructures, so that the microstructures are not deformed by the corrugation rollers in the operation of corrugating the metal sheet.
