Abstract: A method is performed in a first infrastructure equipment for a handover of a wireless device from the first infrastructure equipment as a source to a second infrastructure equipment as a target. The method comprises maintaining a mapping between a plurality of packet bearers and a data radio bearer for the wireless device, each of the plurality of packet bearers being configured to provide a specified quality of service, determining that the wireless device should handover from the first infrastructure equipment to the second infrastructure equipment, determining that the second infrastructure equipment does not support the mapping of the plurality of packet bearers to the data radio bearer, and providing an indication of a mapping of the plurality of packet bearers for the second infrastructure equipment after handover to one of a core network equipment and the second infrastructure equipment.

Abstract: A method for use in a wireless telecommunications network, the method including: when a secondary base station exhausts a supply of unique parameter sets used in security ciphering of received split radio bearers, the secondary base station sends a notification to a master base station of a requirement to alter data handling resources allocated for handling split radio bearers received from the secondary base station in one or both of the master base station and a terminal device; and the master base station, in response to the notification, operating to effect an alteration in the said data handling resources.

Abstract: A method for controlling a connection procedure for a terminal device requesting a radio connection to a cell supported by network infrastructure equipment in a wireless telecommunication system, the method comprising: determining, at the terminal device, that a request to connect to the cell supported by the network infrastructure equipment is to be made, establishing, at the terminal device, application information relating to an operating context for the terminal device; transmitting a connection request message from the terminal device to the network infrastructure equipment, wherein the connection request message comprises a request for the terminal device to connect to the cell and an indication of the application information; and determining, at the network infrastructure equipment, whether to allow the request for the terminal device to connect to the cell based, at least in part, on the application information received by the network infrastructure equipment from the terminal device.

Abstract: The present technique provides a terminal device for use with a wireless telecommunications system, the terminal device comprising a receiver, a transmitter and a controller, wherein the controller is configured: to conduct a first measurement of a parameter associated with a radio signal transmitted by infrastructure equipment of the wireless telecommunications network and received by the receiver; to determine whether the measured parameter meets a predetermined criteria; and when the measured parameter is determined to meet the predetermined criteria, to conduct a second measurement of a parameter associated with a radio signal transmitted by infrastructure equipment of the wireless telecommunications network and received by the receiver. The present technique also provides an associated method and circuitry.
