Abstract:
A tool for deploying a wellbore plug in a well using flowable eutectic material is disclosed. A tool having a mandrel, an obstruction, and a flowable quantity of eutectic material in a solid state is positioned in the wellbore. The obstruction is actuated and the flowable material is heated to melt. The obstruction supports the flowed material as it cools to form a plug in the wellbore.
Abstract:
A technique facilitates various well operations by delivering a diluent to a desired location in a borehole. A completion system may be disposed in the borehole and a diluent flow path is routed along an interior of the completion system to a desired location. In some applications, the diluent is delivered to an artificial lift system, e.g. an electric submersible pumping system, to dilute a fluid being produced. A flow control unit is positioned along the diluent flow path and may be selectively actuated to control flow of the diluent to the desired location.
Abstract:
A technique facilitates monitoring of parameters along the exterior of a tubing/casing deployed in a borehole. An array of sensors is positioned outside of the tubing/casing and within a borehole wall. The array of sensors is coupled to a surface via a communication line routed through an inductive coupler system. The inductive coupler system has a first inductive coupler member located at an outside position and a second inductive coupler member located at an inside position with respect to the tubing/casing. The arrangement enables real-time monitoring of events outside of the tubing/casing.
Abstract:
A technique that is usable with a well includes deploying a plurality of location markers in a passageway of the well and deploying an untethered object in the passageway such that the object travels downhole via the passageway. The technique includes using the untethered object to sense proximity of at least some of the location markers as the object travels downhole, and based on the sensing, selectively expand its size to cause the object to become lodged in the passageway near a predetermined location.
