摘要: In an electronic endoscope, an insert section has a beam splitter, a CCD, and an EMCCD at its distal end portion. When white light being normal light is applied to an internal body portion, the reflected white light is incident on the CCD through the beam splitter, and a normal image is produced. When the internal body portion is irradiated with special light being excitation light, weak autofluorescence is emitted from specific tissue of the internal body portion. The weak autofluorescence is incident on the EMCCD through the beam splitter. The EMCCD uses an avalanche multiplication effect in its electron multiplier. The EMCCD multiplies signal charge produced from the weak autofluorescence by the electron multiplier, and outputs a high level signal.

摘要: A charge read-out method and a solid-state imaging device capable of shortening a read-out time of charges stored in a plurality of light receiving units arranged linearly are provided. The charge read-out method includes the steps of moving the charges, which are generated and stored in the plurality of light receiving units linearly arranged by receiving light, to charge transfer paths disposed along a row of the light receiving units on both sides thereof, transferring the charges along the charge transfer paths to an output unit, and calculating a sum of converted values based on amounts of the charges transferred from the charge transfer paths for outputting.

摘要: A linear image sensor is constituted to include a red diode line 11, a green diode line 12 and a blue diode line 13, and the green diode line 12 positioned between the red diode line 11 and the blue diode line 13 is provided with a shift of an approximately ½ pitch in the vertical direction of a photodiode as shown. Electric charge transfer channels 21, 22 and 23 for transferring signal charges detected by the photodiodes are formed close to the red diode line 11, the green diode line 12 and the blue diode line 13 respectively, and take a winding shape extended in a main scanning direction. Signal charges read onto the electric charge transfer channels 21, 22 and 23 are transferred in the main scanning direction and are output from output ends OUT31, OUT32 and OUT33.

摘要: In recording an image on a recording medium such as photographic film, position information used for the detection of a principal image is recorded on the recording medium. The position information is read when a hard copy of the image is produced. A characteristic value is derived from within the area of the principal image detected in accordance with the position information. A print exposure amount used for producing a hard copy is determined in accordance with the characteristic value. The position information may be the information directly or indirectly representing the position of the primary image. The indirect representation may be a combination of a subject distance and a focal length of a taking lens. This combination determines a reference size of a face or figure image on a frame. By detecting an image having the same size as the reference size, the principle image such as a facial image or a figure image can be identified.

摘要: A light source discriminating device for use with an image taking apparatus, e.g. a photographic camera, judges whether a bright line having a particular wavelength exists in the light source illuminating a scene to be taken, in order to judge whether the light source is to be a fluorescent lamp. When the light source is judged not to be a fluorescent lamp, then it is determined whether the light source is a tungsten lamp. According to a preferred embodiment, a band-pass filter is used to transmit only a component of a particular frequency range in an output of a photosensor. When the transmitting ratio of the component of the photosensor output is not less than a predetermined value, then the light source is judged to be a tungsten lamp. In flash photography, an object brightness is measured in order to judge that daylight synchronized flash photography is effected if the measured object brightness is not less than a predetermined value. In the preferred embodiment, it is judged, from the time the scene is taken, whether the scene is taken in early evening, in order to prevent an image from being reproduced in a changed color, because the color temperature of the daylight is low. Similarly, it is judged from the day of taking the scene in the year whether the scene is taken in the winter, for the same reason. The resulting judgment data are recorded on a recording medium, e.g. photographic film, in bar code form.
