摘要: The present invention is a tool for scribing tile, including a base member that defines a substantially planar surface, preferably rectangular in design, and more preferably with a small cutout in one end for particular applications. The base member preferably approximates the size of a tile to be laid. The base member is slidably coupled to a series of edge members and center members that are movable with respect to each other as well as the base member. The edge and center members are slidably fastened to the base member, thus permitting the tool to mimic a number of shapes and sizes depending upon the shape and size of tile to be cut.

摘要: An edge-lit luminaire designed to be of minimal weight and to distribute illumination evenly upon an environment is provided. In some embodiments, the luminaire comprises a frame, a plurality of panels, a light source, and power circuitry. More specifically, the panels are arranged at desired angles so as to maximize the evenness with which light is emitted from the light source, which is secured to interior sides of one or more edges of the frame. In use, the frame is lightweight and configured to mount within or suspend from a ceiling.

摘要: A system and method for using multiple ClimateTalk™ compliant thermostats in a zoned HVAC system are provided. The system may include a first ClimateTalk™ thermostat in a first zone, a second ClimateTalk™ thermostat in a second zone, a third ClimateTalk or 24v AC thermostat in a third zone, and a ClimateTalk™ HVAC unit and/or 24v AC HVAC unit, for servicing the demands in the first, second and third zones. A controller in the zoned HVAC system may establish a ClimateTalk™ network between the controller and the HVAC unit, where the controller may identify itself as the sole ClimateTalk™ thermostat in this network. The controller may also establish additional ClimateTalk™ networks between the controller and each of the first, second and third thermostats, by identifying the controller as a distinct ClimateTalk™ HVAC unit in each of the respective additional networks.

摘要: A group of vocabulary words are selected for students at an educational institution. The vocabulary words together with corresponding definitions are put on clothing items worn by different students at the educational institution. The students at the educational institutional are tested regarding the group of vocabulary words and their definitions are before the clothing is worn and some period of days after the clothing started being worn. Selected words from the group of vocabulary words are selected for removal from the group based on the results of the second testing. New clothing items with new vocabulary words together with corresponding definitions are worn by students at the educational institution in place of the clothing items with the word selected for removal from the group.

摘要: Methods and systems provide a burst access protocol that enables efficient transfer of data between a first and a second processor via a data interface whose access set up time could present a communication bottleneck. Data, indices, and/or instructions are transmitted in a static table from the first processor and stored in memory accessible to the second processor. Later, the first processor transmit to the second processor a dynamic table which specifies particular data, indices and/or instructions within the static table that are to be implemented by the second processor. The second processor uses the dynamic table to implement the identified particular subset of data, indices and/or instructions. By transmitting the bulk of data, indices and/or instructions to the second processor in a large static table, the burst access protocol enables efficient use of data interfaces which can transmit large amounts of information, but require relatively long access setup times.

摘要: During shock wave therapy, a determination is made that a kidney stone has begun to fracture, and then a progress of its fragmentation is assessed. This determination can reduce the number of shock waves used to disintegrate kidney stones, and thereby reduce dose-dependent tissue damage. The identification of fracture is possible through the detection and analysis of resonant acoustic scattering, which is the radiation caused by reverberations within a stone particle that is struck by a shock wave. The scattering frequency can provide both an indication that the kidney stone has fragmented, and an indication of the relative sizes of the fragments. Related concepts employ displacement measurements of kidney stones/fragments to provide both an indication that the kidney stone has fragmented, and an indication of the relative sizes of the fragments. Such techniques can be combined with vibro-acoustography based gating that better targets the stone.
