摘要: Video signals are converted into one or more blocks for each predetermined unit amount of data, and a Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) process is performed in the blocks a convert the video signal from a time-base area signal to a DCT coefficient in a frequency area for data compression. One chip of a spread spectrum signal is allocated to each block of the video signal or to each of a plurality of blocks, and additional information is superimposed on the video signal at a constant level corresponding to the chip value for transmission. A video signal on which the additional information consisting of the spread spectrum signal transmitted has been superimposed is received, and from this received signal, a DC component of the DCT coefficient is extracted. Inverse spread spectrum processing is performed for the DC component of the DCT coefficient extracted to detect the additional information.

摘要: A precipitation method is proposed for the preparation of a rare earth phosphate powder by the reaction of a water-soluble salt of the rare earth element in an aqueous solution with an ammonium phosphate, which gives a rare earth phosphate powder consisting of non-agglomerate discrete particles having a spherical particle configuration suitable as a base material of rare earth-based phosphors. The method is characterized by the addition of the ammonium phosphate in the form of a powder to an acidic aqueous solution of the rare earth salt under specified conditions in contrast to the conventional method in which the ammonium phosphate is admixed in the form of an aqueous solution.

摘要: An improved method is proposed for the preparation of a composite carbonate powder of lanthanum, cerium and terbium as a base material of a green-emitting phosphor for which the carbonate powder is desired to have a uniform particle size distribution and a particle configuration as close to spherical as possible. The improved method is characterized by two-step heat treatment of the carbonate slurry formed by the addition of, for example, ammonium hydrogen carbonate to a mixed aqueous solution of lanthanum, cerium and terbium nitrates each under specified conditions while the pH of the aqueous slurry is adjusted to 5.0 to 7.5 after the first step heat treatment but before the second step heat treatment.

摘要: The invention is directed to an active matrix-type liquid crystal display using a horizontal MIM device as a non-linear resistance device. The layers of the metal-insulator-metal elements are formed in a horizontal direction and use a hard carbon film as the insulator layer of the horizontal MIM device. The hard carbon film comprises carbon and hydrogen and a constituent element such as a group III element, group IV element, group V element, alkali metal element, alkaline earth metal element, nitrogen atoms, oxygen atoms, chalcogen atoms or halogen atoms, and has typical specific resistivities of from 10.sup.4 to 10.sup.13 ohm.cm. The claimed devices are economical to produce and substantially free from short circuits caused by pinholes or voids in the insulator layer. In a preferred embodiment, the electrodes of the MIM device are inter-digital in shape.

摘要: Disclosed is a dynamic facility management system that is able to start quickly and monitor a state when various measuring instruments are attached to or removed from the facility to be securely monitored and maintained. The system includes a sensor as a measuring instrument. A measuring instrument reading device, which is a lower level device, transmits a type of the measuring instrument and a purpose of connecting the measuring instrument to a directory server. The directory server generates an instance by referring to class information and generates and registers a relation instance by referring to an inter-class relationship. The directory server transmits the generated instance to related devices on the basis of an inter-instance relationship, and the directory server exchanges facility management data between instances on the basis of the inter-instance relationship.

摘要: A protection element is provided which is capable of stably retaining a flux on a soluble conductor at a predetermined position and is capable of checking a retention state of the flux, enabling a speedy blowout of the soluble conductor in the event of an abnormality. This protection element includes: a soluble conductor 13 which is disposed on an insulation baseboard 11 and is connected to an electric power supply path of a device targeted to be protected, to cause a blowout by means of a predetermined abnormal electric power; a flux 19 which is coated onto a surface of the soluble conductor 13; and an insulation cover 14 which is mounted on the baseboard 11 with the soluble conductor 13 being covered therewith. The insulation cover 14 is provided with an opening porting 20 made of a through hole which is opposite to the soluble conductor 13. The flux 19 comes into contact with a peripheral edge part of the opening portion 20, retaining the flux 19 at a predetermined position on the soluble conductor 13.
